Chapter 23

Ava's sleep wear for labor^ above

"Damen my water just broke!" I said looking in Damen's eyes.

Damen picked me up bridal style and carried me to the car, he put me in the passenger seat and ran over to the drivers seat and started the car. "Damen wait what about Karlie's thi______ Ouch!" I screamed holding on to the door handle in the car. "Karlie's things will be at our house when we get back______" "Okay Karlie you are really hurting mommy." I say cutting Damen off, " I'm calling Dr. Evans right now!" He says finding her number on his phone.

We make it to the hospital in 15 minutes and I have already had 2 contractions in the last 5 minutes. Damen carries me bridal style into the hospital entrance, "Help my girlfriend is in labor." Damen says to the receptionist, "Okay let's get her a wheel chair. I'm wheeled into an empty room and the nurse gave me a hospital gown to put on, she leaves the room and I put the gown on and tied my hair in a messy bun. I sat on the bed, The nurse came back in and set me up to an IV so they can monitor my contractions. 

"Damen my hospital bag, Karlie's bag?" He walks over to me grabbing my hand "It's all taken care of, both of your bags are in the car, because when we packed the bags I decided that it will be better if we put them in the car just in case." He says kissing my forehead. I felt another contraction and man was it painful, I squeezed Damen's hand and by him turning red my grip was a little tight.

I let go of his hand when the contraction was over, "Baby I'm so sorry."  I say apologizing to Damen " don't be let me go get your bag, I'll be right back baby." He says then kisses my forehead then leaves, the door opened and I thought it was Damen but it was Dr. Evans smiling at me "Hi Ava how's everything going, from what Damen was explaining to me your contractions are moving pretty fast." She says walking up to me , she looks at the monitor "Ava your 5 centimeters dilated." Dr. Evans says smiling, she was about to say something when Damen walked in with both bags. "Hey Damen how you feeling?" She asked holding smiling at Damen, "I'm good a little nervous but good." He says sitting the bags down and walking to my other side.

"Good, now Ava a nurse will be in every hour to see how dilated you are, and if the pain gets to where it's unbearable then call a nurse and we can give you an epidural. Okay" She says smiling at me "Okay", Dr. Evans walks out and another contraction comes, Damen tells me to breathe In and out and that it's almost over.

"Karlie decided to come early." Damen says laughing, "yea I think she was tire_______" I was cut off by a contraction. "Come on baby breathe it's almost over." Damen says holding my hand, " I have to pee" I say to Damen and he laughs "okay let me get a nurse"  Damen came in with a nurse, she unhooked me from the IV, Damen grabbed my robe and slippers then I went to the bathroom. I had to have been in the bathroom for a minute because when I came out both our moms where siting on the couch, "Hey baby girl how is Karlie doing?" My mom asked as Damen helped me up on to the bed, "she taking to long to come." I say laying down but as soon as I laid down I started to have another contraction, my mom rushed to my side and rubbing my back, "Breathe Ava it's almost over." Damen said rubbing my back, once it was over a nurse  and Dr. Evans came in smiling. "How's mommy doing, is the baby ready to come into the world." She asked waving at Lucinda and my mom, "okay Let's see here, Ava you are 9 centimeters dilated. Good job mommy!" Dr. Evans said high fiving my hand "In another hour baby should be ready to meet mommy and daddy." She says then leaves the room.

Another hour passed and I have already had 4 contractions in the same hour. Dr. Evans came in with three other nurses, she walked over to the monitor to check and see if I'm 10 centimeters dilated yet. Dr. Evans looks at me and smiles "You made it to 10 centimeters, looks like baby Karlie is ready." She says walking to the end the bed, she propped my legs opened, and ushered the nurses to come over. One nurse has my left leg and the other nurse has my right leg, my mom and Damen is holding my hand while Lucinda is taking pictures.

"Okay Ava the next contraction you feel push as hard as you can, okay." Dr. Evans said smiling, I felt a contraction "Come on Ava push as hard you can." Dr. Evans said , while the nurses pushed my legs back for support."10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. Relax Ava." Dr. Evans said counting to 3 on her fingers, "Come baby push, you can do it." Damen says kissing my forehead, he looks between my legs, "I can see her head baby your doing good." He says with a big grin, "Okay Ava this is it one last big push, and I mean big." Dr. Evan says looking at me counting to 3 on her fingers. I pushed as hard as I could and the pain just disappeared, the room filled with Karlie's tears making me, Lucinda, my mom, and Damen cry.

"You did good mommy, very good." Dr. Evans said taking her gloves off, "here you go momma." One of the nurses says handing Karlie to me while cleaning her up. "You did good baby, I'm proud of you." Damen says kissing my forehead and wiping my tears, the nurse took Karlie so they could clean her up, "She is beautiful baby girl, and you did good." My mom says kissing my forehead.

I pushed out the after birth, then I was cleaned up, and Karlie came back wrapped in a purple blanket with a purple hat. The nurse laid Karlie down on my bare chest so she could feel my warmth, looking at the beautiful baby in my arms made me smile from ear to ear. Damen and I created her, she has Damen's nose, and his bone structure, she has my lips. We did it my baby girl is here and is already loved by all, looking at my baby girl I thought 'I never really believed in love at first sight until she came.

Karlie Lucinda-Sabrina Mason born on April 5th at 12 o'clock midnight.
