Chapter 9

The Next Day

The sun was shinning through the hospital window, everybody went home last night around 11. Damen wanted to stay but I told him that I was fine, the baby is fine and he could go home and sleep. Jaylon, Skylar, and Damen was going back and fourth about their favorite football and basketball teams, then before everyone left Jaylon finally asked Skylar out.

I can't wait to go home, I absolutely hate hospitals I'm just waiting on my discharge papers from Dr. Evans. I grabbed my bag of clothes that Skylar brought. I just got done putting my shoes on when "knock, knock, knock" "come in"  I say closing my bag and in walks Dr. Evans with my discharge papers and behind her was a smiling Skylar.

"Hi Ava I just need you to sign these and then you are free to go and I will see you back here in 3 weeks to check on that precious baby." Dr. Evans said to me smiling, I signed the papers and handed them to her and then she left.

"Hey momma you ready?" Skylar said giving me a hug.

"Yes I'm ready and I'm hungry." I say grabbing my bag walking out the door.

"Okay let's go to breakfast and talk about these sexy guys that asked us out and in your case knocked you up first then asked you out." Skylar says laughing, "Okay Cafe21 it is." I say laughing.

Skylar and I was sitting at a booth talking about the baby, Damen and Jaylon. "Ava how is that Jaylon showed up to the hospital 15 minutes after I did?" Skylar asked me raising an eyebrow, "um well funny story I was taking a nap, but he called Damen to check on me and he asked about you."  Skylar looked at me with confusion on her face " Why would he ask about me he doesn't know me." "He seen you when you dropped me off at Damen's office." I told her then she smiled while blushing.

"He asked me out for dinner tonight at a fancy restaurant." Skylar says excitedly

"Fancy like expensive fancy?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yea, that's the same thing I said, because you know how I am with money and the only things I feel should be expensive is shoes, jewelry, and your living." Skylar said eating her hash browns. I am the same way when it comes to money. We finished eating and decided to go visit Kayla to catch her up on everything that's happened in these past two days.

We get to Kayla's apartment and tell her to let us up. Kayla let's us in "Hey chicas what's been going on?" Kayla asked walking into the kitchen. "Well I'm pregnant, I told Damen, and Skylar and I have  dates tonight, but other than that nothing much." I say hoping she didn't catch the last two parts of what I said. "Wait pause rewind you what, and who are the guys?" Kayla said pulling glasses out of the cabinet.

"Yes I told Damen and I'm going out with Damen." I told Kayla taking the cup of water out of her hand.

"And I'm going out with his Bestfriend Jaylon." Skylar said with a smile on her face.

"You tell the guy that your pregnant and now you guys are going on a date, and Skylar how did you meet his bestfriend?" Kayla said with a confused looked, and before we could answer her questions she asked "I thought you and Damen went out to lunch and that Skylar dropped you off at his office?"

"She did and we were supposed to go to lunch, but the baby had other plans, I fainted and Damen had to take me to the hospital. When I woke up I was in a hospital bed, with Damen sitting on the couch waiting for me to wake up_____" Kayla had cut me off "so how did you tell him you were pregnant?"

"Well if you let me finish I'll tell you." I said a little annoyed, then Kayla finally shut up.

"When I woke up, I seen Damen and called his name. He looked up at me and walked over to the bed asked how I was feeling, and then told me that Dr. Evans told him I was 2 months pregnant. She explained the conception date to him. He asked was I going to tell him, was it his baby, and why was I prepared for the worst. I explained everything to him in a honest way, then he said he wants to be there for me and the baby, he stayed with me all day at the hospital, and then he asked me out." I said taking a deep breath.

"Awe that's so cute , now Skylar how did you meet Jaylon?" Kayla said now looking at Skylar for conformation.

"My turn huh, well Ava called telling me to bring her some taco bell because she was hungry, and she wanted me to meet Damen since he was there. I was there for 15 minutes when Jaylon walked in, he came to check on Ava and Damen, when he saw me. Damen and Ava introduced us and then we were talking until Ava decided to kick us all out because her and baby was tired, and before we left he asked me out." Skylar said blushing.

We told Kayla everything and just chilled for a minute watching movies and talking. We called Dana to catch her up because she was at work, after Skylar took me home so I can get ready for my Date with Damen.

I was sitting in my living room on the couch waiting for Damen, I was dressed 2 hours early, so I could relax for a little bit. I decided since I was waiting I thought why not talk to my baby.

"Hi baby, how do you feel in there, I know you may be little and can't move around right now and it's going to get a little cramped once you grow bigger. Ever since I found out that you were coming I have had this bubbly feeling that I can't describe. I just know I'm in love with you all ready, but I just wanted to tell you I love you baby girl and I think your daddy loves you too." I say rubbing my stomach. My phone started ringing, and when I looked at the caller ID it was Damen.

"Hey are you outside." I asked

"Yes I just pulled up to your building you can come out beautiful." Damen said making me blush and smile from ear to ear.

I walked out securely locked my door, and headed to the elevator, I walked out and seen Damen standing by his car with a dozen purple roses and truffles. "You look beautiful." He said handing me the roses and truffles, then kissed my forehead.
