It had been weeks sense the insistent, and yet Vanessa and Roman would still avoid each other, Vanessa in fear of him and Roman in fear of letting go of the mask.
It was the day they were going back to Alabama, so Vanessa could collect her items, she was going to pack as much as she could and make a secret room in her room to place all of her assassin items.
Roman had said that they would spend the weekend there, so she was asked a small bag, and walked over to Matt's room "Matt are you ready?" He nodded and walked towards Vanessa "lwets go" he grabbed Vanessa's hand and dragged her down the stairs
"Come down child, I'm gonna break something" Matt giggled and continued to pull her until they reached the living room, where Roman was waiting with two other men.
Once Roman saw them , he motioned for them to go.
The car ride was long and boring, neither Roman or Vanessa would speak to each other, it kind of got awkward and Mathew hated that awkward silence "Aunt Nessa, where do you live?" Vanessa looked at Matthew and replied "I live in a small town, in Alabama" he nodded and it was back to silence.
Once they arrived to the airport, Vanessa grabbed Mathew and took him inside Romans private jet, she sat him by the window and buckled him in, than she took her own seat in front of him
She looked out the window, and didn't even notice that Roman had sat down right next to her, until the plane started
When the plane started to take off she unintentionally grabbed Romans hand and squeezed it, Roman looked up puzzled until he looked over, Vanessa had her eyes tightly shut and she was gripping his hand like there was no tomorrow
After the plane was in the air Roman spoke up "Vanessa, you can let go of my hand now" her eyes quickly snapped open and she pulled her hand away, why did she do that "I-I'm sorry" she said honestly "don't be" he replied "it's cute" Vanessa felt the blush on to her cheeks than turned to the window
Roman couldn't explain how he felt, every little thing she did intrigued him, she was so delicate yet fierce, she was amazing and he wanted her so much, but he could not have her, he didn't want to ruin that beautiful girl, nor load her with all of his problems, flowers are best left alone, for if one snatches it from its soil, the flower shall die.
After many hours the plane landed, Vanessa grabbed her things and some of Mathews, after getting out of the plane they walked over to a car, Roman handed her the keys and she drove to her small cottage.
Once they reached the cottage Matthew jumped out of the car and ran around, he never got out much and he absolutely loved the outdoors, even Roman seemed a bit more relaxed, she grabbed the keys from under the mat and opened the door, there was a bit of dust, but otherwise the cottage was pretty clean, Vanessa took Damon to the guest room and placed his bags inside the closet, she decided that she was going to let Matt sleep in her room.
After they got settled in, Vanessa decided to cook something. after everyone ate her delicious lasagna they went to bed. When the clock struck midnight Vanessa woke up and made her way to the basement floor, she started to transfer all of her files into a pen drive and pack all of the weapons she could fit into a secret compartment in her bag, after she wiped out the computer, she pressed a button on the wall and the floor opened, the computer was pushed down into the opening and she closed it.
She did that with the other things in the room, now the basement looked no more than normal, she left the bag down there and went back up the stairs, Damon was sitting on the couch starring out the window, when he heard Vanessa walking he stood up and sat there, Vanessa was startled by his presence and almost fell over but he caught her just in time "Where were you?" said Damon "Just packing things in the basement nothing else" he looked at her suspiciously but he let it go "Fine, but you should sleep, were packing things tomorrow" Vanessa nodded and headed to her room, they would have along day tomorrow.
