Thick and Thin (Avenged Sevenfold FanFic)

Chapter 1

"First day of school…"

"You ready?"

"No."

"Good, 'cause neither am I." I gave Sarah a smirk.

Today was our first day of Junior year at a new high school. Both of our families

decided to move to California together, to give all of us a fresh start after what has happened  to all of us the past two years. So we all packed up and moved out to California. Sarah and I  are attending Huntington Beach High School, and we know absolutely no one there. We were  scared to death.

We walked up the steps of the school, arm in arm, not ready to meet our principle. After

we meet with him, we'll be split until lunch, then we'll be split again for the rest of the day.  We think our principle made our schedules like this on purpose.

When we walked into the main office, there was a guy sitting in one of the chairs,

already in trouble on the first day of school.

"Now, are you going to behave Mr. Baker?"

"Yeah, I guess."

The principle hesitated, "Alright, get outta here."

The boy stood up and turned around. He had short black hair cut short, but was growing

out, pale but at the same time bright green eyes, and he wasn't much taller than me. I'd never  seen a guy like him.

He gave a sorta smirk and squeezed past me to get out. His arm brushed mine, he

apologized before he disappeared from sight.

Sarah elbowed me and gave me a smile; she knew I liked him already.

"Sorry ladies, he's one of our delinquents. He's not in here all the time, but he's in here a

good portion of the school year. Actually, Miss…." He checked one of his papers on his desk  before continuing, "Do you go by Kate Jessup or Kate Hampton? Because I have both of  these names on your papers."

"I actually decided to go by Hampton."

"Ah yes, you live with your sister and her husband, that's right. Well Mr. Baker has quit

a few classes with you…six of them to be exact."

I let a little smile appear on my face.

"What's his first name?" Sarah was asking all the questions like usual.

"Zachary, Zachary Baker." Sarah nodded her head and gave me a wink. "Please, ladies,

have a seat."

We sat in the chairs, ready to get the "You're new a this school, but don't worry you'll

make friends in no time" speech Sarah and I agreed the day before that if he was to give us  this speech, we'll stop him and tell him we don't need the "you're new" speech.

"So, you're juniors now, and you're starting at a brand new high school. Well, let me

assure you ladies that our students are very welcoming and-"

"Can we just stop you there?" Sarah interrupted.

"We don't need the "you'll make friends in no time" speech. We've gone to high school,
