"Ahh! What a lovely-innovation." Caesar yells as I enter into his still bland office. I think he's referring to my black eyeliner, darkened hair color, and better situated bra.
"It becomes you."
"Oh, I know." I smirk as I sit my stuff down, along with my body, crossing my legs. The pencil he's tapping abruptly stops when I flip a lock of hair, exposing my shoulder. These hanging straps of this red dress a gift that was appropriate to wear for this occasion.
His face stares speechless.
"Is there a problem?" I coo.
Sucking in a sharp breath, he straightens his baby blue shirt.
"When I said come back with a new attitude, I didn't mean an entirely different," He flashes a glance at my slightly exposed cleavage. "persona."
I tilt my head and smile at him, he lunging forward with a smirk.
"If you are flirting with me, trying to climb up the leader board, all you have to do is ask."
Mocking giggles slip from my mouth all too suddenly ending when I lunge towards him, our faces inches apart.
"Aw, poor poor Caesar. Has being without me for so long really caused you to think that I've come back with a plan to seduce my way back on your good side? I hate to say you are sadly mistaken. I only come with what you call, innovation, because I've not desired the week I just had. Things have changed. I have changed. I only come to work, that is all. But you know, if you are interested in finding a quick yet memorable Lewinsky," I whisper, "all you have to do is ask."
A smile plays at his lips, he leaning back with a strong laugh, I lean back, chest up, pleased.
So very easily played is that Caesar.
"Ahh, dear, McKenzie. I've always liked that je ne souis quoi about you. I'm glad you have come back with a fresher understanding of life-"
Huh, yeah, that's it.
"Better me than that curly haired nuisance I saw you hanging with after he...you know."
"Yes, he's a troubled soul," I say, rubbing the skin under my chin. "but let's not talk about him."
He nods in agreement.
"Just to recap, what are we not going to do?"
I snarl internally as his patronizing words hit me like darts.
"I will not leave undereducated workers near the stove during busy work hours. I will not stay in a customers presence longer than necessary and I will not leave the stove on high with undereducated workers."
He nods.
"Well, you've done what I asked, more than enough. You can grab your stuff and get to work, pretty lady."
He jerks out of his seat as I glide out of mine, slightly puckering my lips and squinting my eyes as I flip my side to see him holding the door open for me.
"Aww, your kindness is noted."
I strut to the door, watching his eyes watch me hungrily.
"FYI, I am not going to be available to work over time today, I have another occupation to deliver my skills to." I say, strutting out of the office.
"But what if I need you? You promised us your loyalty first."
I freeze at that. Peters. Trying to regain myself, I turn my back to look at him.
"Look, Caesar, if you have a problem with it, you are just going to have to take it up with Ainsley LaVecchia."
I shrug as I parade away.
