Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.

A black haired man adjusted his glasses and continued to work on his sketch. He brushed his bangs away from his brown eyes with his forefinger and proceeded to finish his final scene starring his new character - a short haired girl with grey locks in a black body suit.

This should work. He thought to himself while flexing his fingers and closing the draft of his new manga. He rearranged the bundle and sealed it in an orange envelope to mail the new chapter of his manga to Weekly Times  Shonen magazine.

It's pretty much every manga artist's dream to get their manga published in Weekly Times Shonen magazine. And till now Jin Izumaki didn't only managed to get two of his mangas published but the fact that he made it to its cover three weeks in a row is what makes him truly remarkable. Also the fact that Jin is probably the youngest manga artist to achieve this amount of success in such a short period of time.

The end will definitely make some jaws drop. I hope the twist isn't too harsh. I should probably think of a name for her. Izuki? Or probably Rin? Why are all the names I can think of is similar to mine?!! I need some air for fresh ideas.
Jin takes a deep breath and shuffles his hair. He collects his wallet, keys, and the orange envelope containing his manga to drop it off in the mail box on his way out.

He opens the mail box and carefully puts his envelope in and turns around. Suddenly there is a bright flash of light momentarily blinding him and throwing him off his feet. Jin stood in the middle of road trying to regain his balance. Strangely nobody else was affected or stun by the bright flash other than Jin himself. He looked around, forgetting the direction he was going in, when his stomach growls.

When was the last time I ate? I did had pork last night which means I only skipped two meals? I shouldnt be this hungry. Jin thinks to himself while rubbing his belly and checking his watch.

"WHAT? It's 4 already?? Man time flies", he exclaims. "especially on the day I have to mail the manga"

I need grocery for dinner, he sighs and walks off towards the direction of closest grocery shop.

****

Jin stood in the middle if grocery shop in his blue sweatshirt and grey trackpants with noodles in one hand and pork in the other, staring at them.

This shouldnt be so hard, I have been standing here for the past 10 minutes! I had pork last night so it's clearly noodles for tonight's dinner. But pork soup is more filling... But noodles is more easy to make so it's noodles. Or pork?

"Ughhhh", he groaned.

Unable to decide between either one of them he threw both of them in the basket and proceeded to pay for his shopping.

Jin spent the next few hours of his day being least productive. All he did was eat his pork noodles and watch crap TV all without realizing that just in few minutes his world was going to turn upside down.

Just as he was about to sleep, his phone rang. He put on his glasses and reached for his phone on his night stand. He squinted his eyes as the bright light from the phone screen hit his face.

William Jones - Weekly Times Magazine, hundred things raced through Jin's mind as he picked up the call.

"Good evening, Mr. Jones. I wasn't expecting your call at this hour. Is there something wrong?" Jin asked calmly.

"Yes. I am sorry Mr. Izumaki, Weekly Times will not be able to publish your manga this week." the voice replied.

"What? Why? What's the problem?" Jin frowned as his head raced with every possible mistake with his manga.

"The deadline to submit the draft of your manga is 9pm, which I assume you knew already. It's 11pm and we still haven't received your draft yet." the voice said.

"I am pretty sure there must have been a mistake from the post office. I will take care of it right away. There is no need to worry." Jin sighed in relief.

"I am extending the deadline by an hour are you sure you will be able to make it in an hour?" Jones asked.

"Yes if I leave now I will be able to make it in time." Jin ended the phone call. And started grabbing things in sight. He wasnt panicking at all as something assured him his envelope is just there waiting for him in the post office. He grabbed his phone and keys from the night stand and left his house.

It was absolutely dark outside at this hour. The only light was coming from a distant street light. The street looked darker and even more dim lit than usual. Jin opened the gate and stepped out side, despite the urgency of the issue, Jin decided to walk to the post office. Since something assured him nothing could go wrong.

Boy, how wrong was his intution.

Before he could even take a few steps a thought raced through his mind.
What if the envelope is still in the mail box? It wouldn't hurt to check. He turned around to open the mail box. Again there was a sudden flash of bright light momentarily blinding him and throwing him off balance. But this time he didn't had enough time to recover. Shortly after the flash there was a sound of something being hit followed by a muffled thud. Jin laid on the ground motionless beside the mail box as his masked attacker in a blue bodysuit stared at his still corpse.
