Chapter 8

Date: September 29, 1987

Shayne's POV

Over the past two weeks, Michael has performed 9 shows in 3 different cities We're currently in Yokohama and Michael has a week off before he does the final shows here and then we move on to Osaka

Right now, Im in the living room area of our hotel room with Karen Michael is in the bedroom getting some much needed rest

Karen: So........

Shayne:(Smiles) What, Kay.?

Karen: How are you and Michael doing.?

Shayne: We're fine He's so sweet and loving

Karen: Yeah You needed someone like that, after being with Kent for so long

(I shivered at hearing his name. I hated him, and still do, with everything in me.)

Shayne: Yeah your right

Karen: Do you still have the nightmares.?

Shayne:(Shrugs) Sometimes....They come and go My last one was actually last night

Karen: Really.? Did Mike notice.?

Shayne: Of course he did I was shivering and crying my eyes out

Karen: What'd he say.?

Shayne: He just asked me what was wrong and I said nothing and he kinda smacked his lips and said Shayne, you know that you can tell me anything, right.? I just nodded and he held me in his arms until I fell asleep

Karen: Aw, my best friend is so sweet.!! (We laughed) But seriously, you should tell him what happened, so he won't suspect anything

Shayne: What point is there in him knowing.? Its gonna do nothing but bring up bad memories and mess up my head

Karen: Maybe talking about it to someone, bedsides me, will help you start to heal

Shayne: I'll tell him when Im ready for him to know

Karen: You guys really are made for each other.! Michael said the same thing about you a couple of weeks ago.!

(She immediately covered her mouth with her hand. I raised my eyebrow and looked at her.)

Shayne: What doesn't he want me know.?

Karen:(Shakes head really fast) Nothing.! Forget I said anything.!

Shayne: Uh un, Kay.! You know Im not letting you off that easily.! Now, what's up.?

(Just then, the bedroom door opened and Michael walked out. He walked into the living room and sat next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.)

Shayne: Michael.?

Michael:(Face in my neck) Yes, beautiful.?

Shayne: Is there something that I should know.? Something that your not telling me.?

(His head popped up and he glared at Kay. She shook her head.)

Karen:(Shrugs) Im sorry It just kinda...slipped

Michael: Did you tell her about the actual.......thing.?

Shayne: No She just said that it was something that you would tell me when you wanted me to know

Michael:(Nods) Ok well Karen, could you leave us alone so that I can tell her.?

Karen: No problem hon

(She got up and walked out of the room. I turned towards Michael, who was shaking a little.)

Shayne: Mike, calm down Im sure whatever you have to tell me isn't that bad
