Chapter 24

I drove to the hospital in Gangnam as fast as I could weaving in and out of traffic trying to get there as fast as my car could take me. I think I ran over a bird at some point.

I wasted no time parking either.

Wow Jonghyun would be proud. I parked with one move!

It was like a race to the death! I wasn't taking any breathers! I almost got hit by a car once or twice.

The nurse at the reception didn't even have time to glance up since I ran past her. Key was standing outside the room when I remembered. And stopped running my sneakers screeching to a halt. Like the sound you get at the polished basketball courts.

Took a very... very.. very deep breath.

And collapsed on the floor.

WHAT AM I DOING?!

What am I doing? This is Jonghyun we're talking about!

The last time I saw him was four months ago on terrible terms and now I'm running to go see him knowing he probably never wants to see me again?! What are you doing Nick?

How could you be so stupid!?

"Nick! Er.... What are you doing on the floor?" Minho slid the door to Jonghyun's room close apologizing to a nearby nurse who had to walk around me. Seeing as I was obstructing the whole hallway sitting bang in the middle.

"What am I doing Minho? What am I doing?"

"Sitting on the floor?"

"Wow jerk."

"You asked." He shrugged and crouched down in front of me.

"I mean.... I haven't seen him in for months. For the past four months I've been watching him through a tv, always being ignored by him or ignoring him. What am I doing here? Why am I here?" Then another question popped into my head igniting the anger in my chest. My intense fiery gaze focused on Key who looked at me confused and nervous.

"Why did you call me to come here?!" I shouted at Key who looked taken aback at first.

"Because I know you and Jonghyun still like each other! And don't deny it cause I know you do! You need to talk to him! He's as stubborn as you are!" He shouted back just as loud. Taemin and Onew poked their heads out of Jonghyun's room hissing at us to keep our voices down. Onew said that we're giving Jonghyun a headache.

A headache.

"What-!" I lowered my voice "What do you mean he still likes me?! Why do I have to talk to him?! I just cancelled my wedding for that guy!" I hissed angrily getting to my feet.

"WHAT?!" Minho and Key shouted "You cancelled your wedding?!"

"Yes. I cancelled my wedding."

"Whoa talk about damsel in distress." Minho whistled looking like all stress was relieved.

"Even so... You have to talk to him Nick. He's a wreck."

"What do I say?"

"Imagine you're meeting him for the first time in your life. Forget everything that's ever happened."

"Why?"

"It's just an idea! You asked what to talk about-"

"Ok ok ok! I got it!" Their strong hands pushed me into Jonghyun's room, Taemin and Onew smiled at me assuringly walking past.
