Chapter 8 ~
Kohl's P.O.V.
I walked down the back streets of our small town, headphones in, hood up, head down. Never make eye contact with someone bigger then you, if you see a group of people with hoods up coming towards you, move out of the way, and hide. Don't talk to anyone, and the main rule: don't, and I mean don't, attract attention to your self.
The back streets is where the gangs, and all the street fights are. This part of town is a really bad place. Somewhere you never want to be. If you're lucky enough to have no connection here, you should be damn well proud of yourself.
As I turned into the ally, I saw the very large men who keep people out of this part of the ally, kick someone out.
"Black! There you are man! Where have you been?" Ben asked
"Oh you know, here and there" I replied bro hugging him.
"Have you seen Josh lately?" I asked concerned about my friend.
"Not since his fight last week" he replied taking me to where the other guys are.
"Ty! Man you look like crap" I laughed bro hugging him as well.
"You little (censored) where have you been?" He laughed.
"Places" I chuckled. He slapped my arm, just like Avery always does, but much, much, harder.
As I got ready for my fight, the one thing on my mind was Avery. I hope she's okay. I feel bad about leaving her with her mom, but her brothers are there to keep her safe. I hope.
"Alright folks, we have a treat for you tonight!" The announcer dude called out.
"Kohl Black, will be facing new comer Zayn Hucherson!" He yelled and the crowd went wild!
"Here we go" I muttered. This kid smirked at me. He thinks he has a chance? Stupid kid I'm Kohl Black. He might be good, but I'm better.
I waited for the horn to go off, and as it did, he lunched at me taking a swing at my face. I dodged it, and smirked. He tried again, but before he reached me, I kicked him in the gut and he fell. Hard.
"That's for smirking" I muttered as I punched him square in the jaw.
"And that's, for thinking you'd be able to hit me" I muttered as I punched his nose.
"No shock here folks but Kohl Black won!" The announcer guy yelled. I smiled and walked out of the circle of people.
"Any more fights?" I asked Ben.
"Yeah. You have one more but it's later tonight. Don't wander to far" he smiled handing me my money. I thanked him and stuffed the cash in my pants pocket so I won't lose it.
Avery P.O.V.
I sighed and got up pulling on a black hoodie, and walking out of my room.
"Going for a walk!" I called and exited my house. I plugged my headphones into my phone and walked around.
Rock 'n Roll by Avril Lavigne blasted through my headphones as I walked down my street and into the back parts of town. Most people don't come her because it's full of gangs and streets fights, but I like it down here because if you can go un noticed, it can actually be a very good place to clear your head.
As I walked, I took out my headphones and turned my music off. I saw a group of hooded figures coming towards me, so I ducked into an ally, crouching down behind a dumpster until I was sure they were gone.
