"Wait, Dad hasn't left yet."

Stiles, Scott, and I all made eye contact before running out the front doors of the school.

"We're too late." I breathed out as we watched my dad pull away, Isaac staring back at us.

The three of us turned around to go back inside but froze when we heard a car pull up. We spun on our heels to face the car, it was Derek.

Just the guy we needed.

"Get in." he commanded.

I began to walk forward but Scott caught my arm and held me back.

"Are you serious?" Scott groaned, "You did that! That's your fault!"

Derek looked down in defeat, "I know that, now get in the car and help me."

"I've got a better idea, I'm gonna call a lawyer. 'Cause a lawyer might actually have a chance at getting him out before the moon comes up." Scott raised his voice as he pulled me closer to Derek's car with him.

Derek shook his head, "Not when they do a real search of the house."

"What do you mean?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

He looked worked up, "Whatever Jackson said to the cops... what's in the house is worse."

Scott and I both gave Derek confused stares.

"A lot worse." Derek added.

The door to Derek's car swung open. I immediately climbed in and after a couple seconds of hesitation, Scott climbed in as well.

"Move over." Stiles grumbled.

I pointed at my brother, "Don't you have a detention to get to?"

Stiles groaned, he knew I was right. Scott then shut the door behind him and Derek drove off.

"Where are we going?" I spoke up.

Derek revved the engine, "Just sit back and relax, we'll be there soon enough."

"Why are we here?" I asked, barely audible.

Scott spoke this time, "If Isaac didn't kill his father. Than who did?"

Derek had taken us to the Lahey's house. He wanted to show us everything, even though it meant going on to restricted property.

"I don't know yet." Derek breathed out.

I nudged Derek's arm as we followed Scott through the house, "Well, then how do you know he's telling the truth?"

Derek paused and looked between me and Scott.

"Because I trust my senses."

His words weren't all that convincing, but I went along with it anyways.

"And it's a combination of them, not just your sense of smell..." Derek gave Scott a knowing look as we all came to a stop.

Scott paused before replying, "You... saw the lacrosse thing today."

Lacrosse thing?

"Yeah." Derek sounded a little out done with Scott.

What happened at lacrosse?
