(Thanatos - America, Pennsylvania)
-The Day of the Attack -
Alessandra sat on the edge of the mountain ledge.
Below was the artificial lake. The blue waters gleamed brightly, it looks absolutely normal. But every student of Thanatos knew you rather suicide than touch it. They knew they have the same results. Her legs hanged off the ledge.
Alessandra Snape was beautiful. Maybe it's her smooth, dark skin. Or her sweet brown eyes which often seems like it's broken and tired of life, but she's one of the few that can afford a smile. Her long, light brown flow down passes her shoulders gorgeously. Everyday, when Miss Della Thanatos was observing classes, she would go out here and look out. It was always cold and unwelcoming, but if you lived here long enough, you'll get used to it. No kid ever saw the bright sun, or felt the warmness nature provides. There was no laugh, no smile, no hugs, no friends or love. There was just rules and discipline. Each kid here is different, different background, different eyes, different hair, different face shape or different type of body. But each one share one thing is common - they don't wanna be here. Then again, if they escaped, well... many have tried, none have survived.
The Magical Barrier outside Thanatos makes every hiker or wanderer think the enormous black castle is some sort of homeless, impoverished house in the middle of nowhere. No human would dare step one inch closer. The Magical Barrier provides protection from any intruder, but while it doesn't let anyone inside, no one can get outside without the permission of Miss Della. Magic Grenades were bombs of explosion that were made from Magic. Without proper treatment, the Fire could spread thousands of miles without ever stopping. For the last two years, enemies of Miss Della had strike several times. Thousands of Magic Grenades had fired uncontrollably, causing the students to be more cautious than usual.
Today, the Magic Grenades finally broke the Magical Barrier.
"Holy shoot," Alessandra said, her eyes grew. She quickly got up and ran to the Castle. "ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS! PLEASE LISTEN! A MAGIC GRENADE BROKE THE MAGICAL BARRIER! FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTED MANUAL!"
The girl with the broken hazel eyes quickly who heard her first helped her assist everyone. But it was too late. The Magic Grenade hit. Fire spread through the school unbelievably quick, burning smoke killed many, and the hit of the explosion cause many to blow off the ledge and into the Deadly Lake. The quick, agile ones were the oldest. They grabbed their broomsticks and moved skillfully outside the Black Castle. Some did survive, but the force of the explosion cause several students to be knocked off their brooms. Before they could balance themselves and fly back up, they've already hit the Deadly Lake.
"GO!" Alessandra screamed, her eyes full of tears from the smoke. "Julie! GO! The fire is coming,"
"Aren't you coming?" Julie asked.
"There's still a kid in there," Alessandra said, "I have to help her. You can go out and save Son. He's still in the Basement. The fire isn't there yet."
"But-"
"Please."
Julie hesitated. "Fine, please do survive. May Thanatos be with you," she put her right fist over her heart as a sign of respect.
Julie flew into the basement, smoke polluting the air and making it hard to breathe.
"SON!" Julie screamed. Quickly she realized, he was not conscious. The torturing today must have knocked him out. It wasn't unusual. Julie grabbed Son with her right hand by his waist, hanging him out on the broom. Seconds before the ceiling fell, Julie flew out with a burning sensation all over her body. Seconds after, the Black Castle exploded. It's ceiling and walls that had been standing there for over millennials had crumble down into pieces. The ledge couldn't afford the extra weight and broke, falling into the Deadly Lake. Julie scanned the survivors, Alessandra wasn't one of 'em.
