Slight gore warning?? It's little so chill.

Laura and Kimberly sat in silence. They normally did. Kimberly was incredibly shy and didn't talk very much. She was too busy drawing in her little notebook. Laura spoke less than her, which is odd because Kimberly doesn't say much either. Kimberly smiled and held up her drawing, admiring it. Her eyes shone, her smile reflecting in the dim light. She then took out her books and started to study.

Laura and Kimberly weren't exactly close friends, but they also weren't enemies. They hung out in the common room together, then when class started they didn't see each other at all. Laura was barely in the castle to be truthful. She normally sat on the cliff below the lake, or was walking in the Forbidden Forest. She liked quiet places, and outside was one. It was calming at the lake, seeing the dark consuming water. It was almost terrifying not knowing what could be under all of that. A monster? Maybe. Dragon fossils? Possibly. Human bones? Bingo. The water was so thick that it could have swallowed you up and you could never have seen the light ever again.

Laura stepped out of her thoughts when Kimberly tapped her. She rose up, not knowing why Kimberly disturbed her thinking. Kimberly pointed at her drawing, then at Laura. It looked like a dress, but with sleeves and a hood. Laura was confused at first, then it came to her mind. The dance. Laura internally groaned, she externally shook her head. Kimberly shrugged and sat back in her chair, putting down her notebook to continue studying. Laura did okay on her tests without having to study. Some of the teachers didn't give her a bad score since they were scared of her unknown ability. It wasn't like that always, Laura wouldn't dare hurt a teacher. Students were another subject.

The day had passed quickly from the morning and Kimberly was yet again busy studying. Laura didn't want to be near her while she studied, she had this dark feeling when she is around Kimberly or people. Literally. It is almost as if darkness clung to her like a magnet. Laura had her hood on and walked out, good thing no one noticed. Laura enjoyed the weather, and today was a half moon. Laura was full of surprises. She was a shape shifter it seemed, but can only access the power on half moons or once a week. She could one be an animal for a short period of time. Since the night was a perfect time to fly, she became an owl. An owl with dull white feathers, and a right yellow-green eye with a left ocean blue eye. Funny thing was her eyes changed color according to season. They also did when she was human.

Laura flew to the highest peak of Hogwarts. She landed gracefully, her talons scraping the top. She could nearly see everything. From the lake, to the Forbidden Forest, the mountains, and from very far away the tips of Hogsmead. What caught her attention most was an open window. The Infirmary window. Out of all the windows in Hogwarts, the Infirmary window. How clique can this get? Let's see.. It's night. The Infirmary window is open. Two boys are in there. One of which Laura wants to kill. Wonderful. Laura had to wait until most of the lights were out, which would take another hour. She could manage.

The weather was perfect for flying. She dove down, gliding through the chilly air. The breeze whipped her feathers back, giving her the sensation of flying. She hooted, her powerful voice echoing around. From up here in the sky, Laura saw every move in her vision. From mice to a ripple of water around the lake. And from the corner of her gorgeous eyes she saw a crowd of students. A small crowd. Some of them wore.. cloaks? They were from Thanatos? The others were in robes, all the houses were there. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. Well, Laura had an audience to perform to now, and that she hated. After all, she was an owl at the moment, not a student.

Laura shot higher in the air, then swooped down. She was incredibly graceful, her every move sharp and coordinated. She glided, her wings showing immense strength. One kid pointed at her, then all of their gazes burned into hers. She saw two or three pairs of emerald eyes. And one pair had baby blue, he was the shortest. The moon was her only light, and she had perfect eyesight. Telling by their features they seemed like first years. She hooted yet again, more powerful than the last. Laura stopped using her wings. She fell through the air, but right before she hit the water she flew back up. The students stared in astonishment, except for a few. Some of them looked unimpressed.
