Chapter 7
Unusual (Snicket Styleeeee)
Dulce sat in her Gryffindor Table, examining the Great Hall. It was filled with senseless, half-witted, reckless kids aging from the range of 11-18. Hogwarts changed through the years, but after the Harry Potter incident, many older guardians did not have the courage to trust the magic school once again. It caused Hogwarts to go bankrupt for some time, but luckily, it had enough donations from the Council of Ten to reopen three years ago. Dulce wondered if the school never opened again, what would she be like right now? Maybe in her comfy room filled with posters of wolves and Warriors, her brown eyes stuck onto the screen of her phone. Education wasn't a true problem for Dulce, since her father was never here, her and her brother was always free. She could run away for a few months to Peru and the only person who would notice is Jayden. If Dulce ever ran away, her father would be looking for her desperately, it would probably the only time he actually cares. After that, he would go back pretending Dulce doesn't exist. Maybe a hired teacher would educate them. Then again, Dulce would never listen to the boring lecture. But then again, the food at Hogwarts wasn't the worst in the World, and her friends was the main thing drawing her into the school instead of dropping out.
No classes was exactly 'entertaining' for the kids. It was more of a large portion of the day for naptime. Most kids wear sunglasses, and lay on the table, avoiding the eyes of the Professor and drift off to La La Land. Their partner would be on guard, nudging the elbow of the sleeping child to wake up when the Professor is near and cautious. The sleep guard would trade the next day, being the one to take a fast nap. It was some tradition and system that brought the kids together. But one class was always more than entertaining for the dumb-ass kids. It was Dueling Class. Since Hogwarts can't afford to hire a Professor for that particularly difficult class, the Seventh Years stepped up and asked to help. Inside a large room, perhaps even larger than Great Hall, in the middle stood Laura Lupin and Nathaniel McGonagall. You know Nathaniel, correct? A perfectly squared-jawline resembling a Abercrombie Model's, electric green eyes with a dark shade of blonde colored his chaotic hair. A Thanatos cloak still wrapped around his fragile body. His attitude grew brighter, but specks of memories still hunts him down and breaks him. Laura Lupin was rather an invisible 2nd Year. She was in Thanatos, being one of the most feared person to the students. It wasn't too hard figuring out why, ever since Alessandra told the crowds of students what she supposedly does on Full Moons. It was rather irrational. Eyes pale as the Devil's, bedhead hair the color of sunshine after a harsh storm falling to her shoulders, an expression that suggests she's already dead. Emotionless, possibly more than Julie. She was described as 'psychotic' and possibly a future murderer. No one spoke of her talent with a dagger, afraid of what might she do. Nathaniel was rather getting popular with the people, luring attention from many different sorts of people. Laura stayed in the background, blending in, rather than going out and socializing. Many rumored she was even mute. Nathaniel had taken an interest to Laura, saying she was rather 'exotic'.
On April 30th, Nathaniel finally had the courage to ask Laura to "go ou- to duel..". Words of pure stupidity slipped out of his smart mouth. Even though, it made Laura react, her tilting her head in confusion, her face scrunched up. She opened her mouth as if wanting to say something, but close it immediately and nodded in agreement, and walked away. Nathaniel punched himself several times for asking her to duel him, it was utterly a work of a brainless Second Year. In the afternoon, as the horrendous winds and rain forced the First & Second Years to skip Magical Creatures, but rather go to the Dueling Class for an extra half an hour. That made a lot of dumb-ass kids to scream in happiness, once grateful for the storm.
