I'm letting you go

I tried to sleep but I think I can't,
I can't think because my heart is broken.
Everything that I usually do,
Actually reminds me of you.

I never thought that this would happen,
Oh well, I guess all things just come to an end.
I secretly hope that you'd still care,
Because I think this is so unfair.

Wanting to go back in time,
So I could've made you mine.
You were my strength and weaknesses,
But with you gone, it only brings me sadness.

Forget my broken promise that you'll never see my cry,
As a matter of fact, I cry because you're the reason why.
I thought our love would last an eternity,
But now it's just a sad memory.

I was left with no choice but to end,
I was really hurt and I didn't have to pretend.
Please come back and never leave me behind,
I miss you and you're all that's on my mind.

Writing this poem was the least I could do,
I really hope you're aware that I'm missing you.
Without you my life's a complete misery,
I can't really do anything so I'll just let it be.

I have nothing left to say except goodbye,
I still hope that one day I can make you mine.
It just makes me sad,
Thinking you were once the girl I love that I can never have.
