I had just finished up at English, my fourth period, and started to make my way to the dinning hall.
My binder hung off my shoulders while I had my hands slipped into my jacket pockets.
I decided to take the long route to the cafeteria since I expected the halls to be crowded with students going everywhere.
I rounded the corner to see the janitor walk up to the new girl, Kohanna Fuyuko.
The janitor was nice and he liked to interact with the students, he was like the substitute counselor, actually, he pretty much was the counselor. He was much better than the official one so everyone really went to him for their problems. He wasn't exactly an old janitor either, he was a freshman in a nearby college.
He put his hand on her shoulder, mouth opened to great her. She jumped and she disappeared in thin air.
I heard the banging footsteps heading away from us, it wasn't teleportation then, her magic was invisibility.
The janitor looked confused, probably wondering if what he saw was real or not. He didn't have much experience when it came to magic.
"Sir?" I called out to him, giving a small wave when he turned to see me.
"Hello Katsura." He looked back where Kohanna used to be, then back towards me. "You didn't see a white haired girl here a moment ago did you?"
It's against the school rules to use magic, so it would be trouble for her if she gets caught... I'll cut her some slack since it's her first day, "What girl?" I questioned.
"Probably just my imagination," he shook his head, then the two minute bell rang. "You may not want to doddle anymore."
"Thanks for the advice, see ya." I waved slightly before continuing down to the cafeteria, walking quickly. Nearly there and I heard voices behind me.
"Hey, Akemi!" I heard the voice of Nathan yell out to me. I stopped in my tracks allowing a small smile to make its way onto my face. I loved lunch. Manly since eleven and eighth grade had lunch together.
"Hey." I stated to him.
"You okay?" He asks, placing his hand on my head. One thing I hated about school. Since I hang out with Nathan at lunch so much, some people think we're dating. Manly because my brother uses my mom's last name, Sakura, while I use my dad's Katsura.
"Mrs. Dougles made the new girl sit next to me!" I complained, throwing my arms in the air.
Nathan laughed, "You knew it was going to happen eventually."
"No. I didn't expect someone to come here half way through the school year."
"Nath, I swear, slow the hell down!" The two of us stopped walking to see two boys running up to us, probably Nathan's friends.
When they reached us, the boy who yelled out keeled over while the other boy stood completely fine, next to him.
The boy who was almost on the floor had black hair, along with green eyes. The other boy had blonde hair and black eyes.
The blonde haired boy looked at me, frowning slightly. He seemed... sad. I couldn't understand why,
When the black haired boy looked up and saw me, his eyes widened. He immediately straightened up and said, "You must be Nath's girlfriend, nice to meet you."
"Nathan." I stated, grabbing his attention, "Punch him. Punch him now."
Both Nathan and the blonde laughed at my order, while the black haired boy stared confused and slightly offended at both me and Nathan.
"Come' on Nath, you wouldn't hit your best friend, would you?" He tried to reason with him.
"I wouldn't?" Nathan asked, tilting his head to the side by an inch. "You want to try that theory?"
"Oh! No! Please! Have mercy!" He yelled out, trying to hide behind the blonde who laughed and pulled away from him. "Don't hit me just cause your girlfriend told you to!"
My hair shaded my eyes as I heard that word again. I started to march up to him, ready to punch him straight in the center of his face when Nathan grabbed my arm.
"Don't start a fight and risk getting grounded." He stated plainly.
"But!"
"No buts."
I puffed my cheeks out, "Fine. Then let's head to the Cafeteria already." I yanked my arm away from my brother's grip and marched off to the Cafeteria.
"Yeeesh, what's with her?" The black-haired boy said, arching an eyebrow. "You have a weird taste in woman, man."
Nathan tch'ed at his friend.
Why did the blonde seem so sad?
