Alice's Point of View

Edward and I head into the forest together and we run so we can escape the ears of our vampire family. Nerves flow through my body because of the vision I saw. I don't know if Edward saw the vision clearly, because my vision was blurred and confusing to watch, but it's meaning is easily read.

"What the hell was that, Alice?" Edward asks me, grabbing my arm and pulling my to a halt when we are far enough away.

"I--- It--- Edward, what did you see?" I ask. Vampires do not usually stutter but I am scared beyond control.

"I saw Jasper. And that girl. Isabella," he states. "They were fighting someone."

"Listen Edward, if Jasper befriends Isabella, my secret will be out," I look away from him.

"Which secret Alice? You have a few," Edwards crosses his arms.

About Jasper not being my real mate.

"Alice, are you saying that Jasper and Isabella are mates?" Edward asks.

"That's what I saw," I say. "They'll become close, Isabella will develop feeling and so will Jasper and then they'll figure it out."

"Okay, but what about the fight scene? What caused that?"

"Edward there is something about their family. It's as if they are planning something big but haven't decided what yet."

Isabella's Point of View

I look at the clock on my phone. 11:14pm. I sigh. It's been hours since we left the Cullen's residence. We know that Edward can read minds, from what he said in the cafeteria at school. We think that maybe a few vampires in their clan have powers. Victoria is suspicious of Alice, as her eyes go faded at points and she goes completely out of the world but we aren't too sure what that power is.

I decide to go for a walk, as it's a cold night no humans should be out. I put on some winter clothes and a coat before heading out. It isn't raining finally, but a thick cloud lays over the town. I begin walking towards the centre of town, allowing my mind to think. The town is silent except for the occasional car driving past and the sound coming from the forest.

I stand near the edge of the forest, looking in with my hands in my pockets. My eyes slide through the dark forest, watching for any movement.

"Well you look psycho," comes a voice from behind me. I spin quickly to see the smirking face of Jasper Cullen.

"Jasper, you also look psycho following a young girl to the edge of the forest," I smirk in return.

"Well Isabella, I was going to go to your house to see if you wanted to hint together but I saw you here instead," he smiles. His smile seems to light up the night, and it is beautiful.

"I'm fairly certain your vegetarian family won't want you trading Bambi for a human." That causes him to laugh, and he throws his head back slightly.

"I like you Isabella," he smiles. "You know how to tell a joke."

"And if I wasn't joking?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Then you know how to make someone laugh," Jasper begins to turn away from me. "Walk with me?"

I begin to walk beside Jasper through the town. We joke around and laugh. He asks about my old family and I tell him what I can, and what I found on the internet. I ask about his life, but he doesn't really open up to me about it.

Talking with Jasper is easy. It is like breathing. Natural. Simple. We talk until the sun begins to lighten, and that is when we decide to go our seperate ways. Jasper kisses my hand softly, promising to see me at school. I smile at him and bid him farewell.

The walk back to my house feels long and lonely, and I cannot stop seeing those gold eyes and bronze hair in my mind.

When I head outside to go to school a red Convertible is parked in our driveway. Leaning against the door is the angel herself, Rosalie. James stands beside me and looks at Rosalie with a puzzled expression.

"Rosalie, what are you doing here?" He asks, stepping slightly in front of me.

"I was hoping to be able to drive Isabella to school," she smiles. "It would save a trip for you and I've got to go there anyway."

James looks at me, and I nod. "Thankyou Rosalie." He kisses my forehead before heading inside. I walk over to her and she smiles.

"Hey Bella," she says whilst opening the door for me. I climb in gratefully and she dashes around the car.

"Thanks for picking me up..." I say quietly. What is it with the Cullen's and being strangely nice to me?

"I was extremely rude to you yesterday, and I'm sorry for that. So I thought we could start fresh," she says, putting the car in reverse.

"I think that's a good idea Rosalie," I smile at her.

"Bella, my friends call me Rose."

I walk into biology, the final class of the day, and sigh happily. One more hour and then I am done. I see Edward sitting at the table, and I head over and take my seat beside him.

"Hi Edward," I say smiling.

"Hi," he replies dully. I notice that Edward has been exceptionally quiet today, especially during Lunch.

_Flashback to lunch_

I walk over to the Cullen's table, and sit in the same seat as yesterday. Rose, Emmett and Jasper smile at me, but Alice and Edward share a concerned glance.

"Isabella, hi," Jasper smiles that gorgeous smile.

"Hey guys," I reply, waving slightly.

"How's class been Isabella?" Emmett asks.

"It's been alright," I say.

Friendly chatter comes over the table, but Alice and Edward are dead silent. I send a questioning gaze to Jasper, but he merely shakes his head at me. Something must be wrong.

_End flashback_

"What was up your arse at lunch?" I ask, drumming my fingers softly against the table.

"That is one of your business Isabella," Edward snaps.

"Oh harsh," I laugh. "If I cared that may actually have hurt."

"Well, luckily I don't care about you."
