Chapter 8

Binaliktad na ni Jongjin ang signage ng cafe tanda na sarado na sila. Nakita nito si Aubrey na naglalampaso ng sahig.

"Aubrey-ssi, put it down. We'll clean the shop tomorrow okay? I know your tired." Inagaw nito ang mop at pinaupo sya.

"I enjoyed working here thank you very much. Now can I have my coffee?" pabirong tanong nya.

Bago makasagot si Jongjin, bumukas ang pinto at niluwa noon si Yesung.

"I thought your going home?" Tanong ni Jongjin sa kapatid.

Nagkibit balikat lang ito, tumingin kay Aubrey at tumango tapos nagpunta sa counter para ayusin ang cash register. Tinawag naman ni Jongjin si Aubrey.

"Come here, I'll teach you how to make coffee."

Lumapit sya. "Is this a part of my training so that next time you ask for my help, it would be much easier for you?"

Sumabat si Yesung, "Yes it is."

Tawa ng tawa si Jongjin ng biglang magring ang phone nito. "Hyung, can you make a cup of coffee for Aubrey? Mom's calling." Lumayo muna ito kaya naiwan silang dalawa sa counter.

Napuno ng katahimikan doon. Lumapit si Yesung bagay na nagpaatras sa kanya.

"Hey, are you scared of me?" tanong nito habang ginagawaan sya ng kape.

"No. Why should I?" pagtatakip sa kabang nararamdaman.

Hindi ito sumagot. Mayamaya ay nagsalita ito kasabay ng pagabot ng kape nya. "I haven't seen Casey."

"Thanks," kinuha nya ang inaabot nito. "He's with Andrew."

"I missed him." natatawang sabi nito.

Napangiti si Aubrey sa sinabi nya. "I think you'll be a great dad someday."

Biglang natutop ni Aubrey ang bibig. "Sorry."

Napatingin si Yesung sa kanya. "You think so?"

Tumango tango sya. "You're a great brother to Jongjin. You seemed to love him so much."

Umasim ang mukha nito. "I don't have a choice."

Napahalakhak sya sa sinabi nito. "You're mean."

Napangiti si Yesung. "You looked so pretty when you smile. Much prettier when you laugh."

Naramdaman nyang uminit ng todo ang pisngi nya kaya napahawak sya dun. "It's Jongjin we're talking about, not me."

Hinila ni Yesung ang kamay nya paalis sa pisngi. "What's the score between you and Andrew, Aubrey?"

Bakit parang musika sa pandinig nya ang pagbanggit nito sa pangalan nya?

"Me and Andrew? Why do you ask?"

"Just curious."

Napahinga sya ng malalim. "He's just a person from my past."

"Past? So you two had a relationship?" mejo dumilim ang mukha nito.

"He's my ex-boyfriend and brother in law..."

Brother in law?" gulat na tanong nito.

"My sister's husband. She died after a month Casey arrived. Casey is my nephew."

"How did it happen?" Sumandal ito patalikod sa counter. "I mean Andrew was your boyfriend then suddenly he became your sister's husband? I don't get it."

"We're high school buddies. We started dating when we're on our senior year then he decided to take up Education during college just to be with me but he shifted after a year because he really loves music. He met my sister at my graduation because she was living overseas then. To make the story short, they fell in love, he left me and they get married." Kibit balikat nyang pagtatapos sa issue.
