Chapter Forty-nine

We reach an extra storage room which is bigger than I thought it would be. That is really not what should be on my mind right now. I hear that he has closed the door behind him and then turn to face him. "What are you doing here?" I ask and he looks at me. "You know that I am close to the royal family." He says with a long sigh. "We have to stop seeing each other. You helped me the other day and am very thankful for that but it cant go on like this." His eyes are locked to mine. "Keeping these things from Zayn and me lying to him about this." I say letting it out. He takes a step closer to me and I step back. My stomach flutters as I stay still. He comes closer and his lips touch the skin under my ear. "I don't want this to end." He says whispering low. His other hand is on my back his fingers touching the bare skin not covered by the dress. "I bet that you don't want it to end as well but you are just scared to admit." He says.

I walk past him and go back into the room of people. Some eyes are on me and I ignore some peoples gazes. Emma meets me. "Where were you?" She asks me. "I needed to do something." I say and she looks at me. Just then sees Nick walking out of the storage room. "Nina, are you seriously together with him?" She asks and I shake my head. "We never were and never will be. The best for everyone" I say and it aches my heart.

The speeches are being held. My dad steps up the front and looks proudly at my mother as he speaks. It is beautiful to hear. I can't say that I am the only one with tears in the eyes. Everybody is silent while listening. "Happy Birthday, to my lovely wife." He says and we all raise the glasses.

Zayn's POV

I try to keep it cool but swear that I saw Nina and Nicklaus enter the other room. A million questions go through my head. Is he trying to get her for himself? It isn't that weird, he has tried before. Is she in love with him? Did they do something behind my back? I have known Nina my whole life but she would not try to hurt me, not on her own and especially not if she isn't the one who came up with the idea. That is exactly what Deliah did as well when she fell for my brother. Nina does not know about him being family but she does know him. How did they met?

No wonder he asked for her address How could I be so stupid to give him that address? I think to myself. No wonder, he went to her house. Look, I might be royal but I am seriously not dumb. He knows that very well that he has to stay away from my girl if he wants me to forgive him for all the years we could not have spent together.

That guy is walking towards the toilets and I don't hold back. I follow him inside and close the door behind me. There is a little room before you can go inside the ladies bathrooms or the men bathrooms.

"Are you out of your mind?" I yell and he looks quite amused. "What are you talking about?" He says and I am trying to hold myself back. "You know that you have ruined the future before. You are not messing with me this time." I say and he turns to me. "You did it yourself." He says and I glare at him. "You haven't told her about me being your older brother. You just said he is close to the family." He said mocking me. I huff.

"I am your brother. I am closer to the family than she thinks." He says. The door opens that moment. Nina walking out the ladies bathrooms. I turn pale and my blood turns cold. Her mascara has ran out and her eyes are red. She has cried which can only mean one thing: she heard.
