Liam's POV
"MOM"
"Mom?" She questions with a frigid stare.
I huff a deep breath, rolling my eyes at the same time. "Mother"
"Hey bro" my crazy sister waves from behind my mother, smiling.
"Payson!" I'm surprised to see her. What is she doing here? Did my mom drag her down here because of me or what?
My mom shoves me aside with her hand as she walks into the apartment with my sister walking behind her. My eyes follows both their movement until they stop in the middle of the living room. I shut the door and walk towards them, my mom is busy scrutinizing the apartment.
I cleared my throat and she turns around.
"What is the meaning of this?" My mom asked in a ragged tone. Her voice is as cold as death.
"What?" I question back, feigning ignorance.
"How dare you pretend not to know what I'm talking about" her voice is getting high and I just hope she stops before I loose my cool.
"I clearly don't read minds." My sister chuckles and my mom immediately glares at her, making her to put on a serious look.
"Goodness! William, what were you thinking? What are you doing here? What do you think you're doing, staying here? I was only out of the country for few weeks and I come back to see you in this mess."
"I'm not in any mess. This is an apartment I share with someone as you can see"
Just at that moment, I notice the witch quietly opening the door to her room and stepping out, looking almost confused. I expect her to be, my crazy mom is shouting in her apartment. I won't be surprised if she kicks us out.
My mom and sister turns around, hearing the sound of a door squeaking shut, only to see a confused Violet before turning back to me.
"So that is the reason you left home" she points her finger at the witch over her shoulder. The fact that she just refers to Violet as 'that' makes me so angry. Violet could rip her apart with her sharp mouth but she isn't even saying a word and that surprises me.
"Her name is Violet" I growl.
"I know her name is violet. How did you even think I found you out?"
Damn it! I should have known she'd hire a private investigator to dig me out. How could I have have overlooked that.
"I come back to find out you haven't been going to work since I left just because of her. You left your beautiful home for this place." She makes it sound like I'm in a dump or somewhere worse. "It's so ludicrous." She scoffs.
"If you call that place a home, then this place is paradise. This place feels more like a home than that suffocating house you call a home"
"I can't believe this" She says with a huff and turns to my sister who is busy trying to suppress her smile. "Are you listening to your ungrateful brother?"
She turns back to me "I gave you everything and you think the only way you can return the favour is ruin everything that I've built since your father left us"
Oh no! Not again. There she goes again with the rant about my late father. Will she ever stop doing that? Will she ever stop. She always bring him up when she wants to force something on me. Can't I just decide on something all by myself? I am so tired of her pushing me around.
"You've given me nothing but orders. You only get to push me around like I'm a fucking puppet. I'm tired. You can go ahead and make yourself a dummy"
"How dare you talk to your mother like that because of her" my mom yells.
