Waiting at the Airport

Yachi's phone rang for the umpteenth time of the day. Probably they're all mostly from Hinata. She can't blame him. Christmas is drawing near and she's thousands of kilometers from him. Yachi is currently in France with her mother. Her mom was sent to France to represent their company for two years. Of course, she can't just leave without her daughter so she dragged her along. Yachi transferred to a school there but blending to a new environment is hard for her. She feels so lonely and she can't stop thinking about her hometown whenever she's alone.

Both miss each other but Hinata is more looking forward on meeting her. Besides Yachi, he is also waiting for her reply. He is yet unsure of his status with her and he'll definitely be happy when he is able to call Yachi his girlfriend.

Yachi picks up her phone from the table and opens her Messenger only to find 28 messages from Hinata, 2 messages from Shimizu and the uncountable messages from her former club group chat, mostly consisting of memes, emojis and plans for their Christmas party. She tried to leave the group chat several times but they would just add her again and again. The former third years and second years are still there and new members, the new first years and new second years, were added. She opens Hinata's messages and they're mostly "When are you coming back, Yachi-san?" "Yachi-san please come back" "We're going to have a Christmas Party... everybody's expecting you to be there for our last year". A smile crept on her face. She can totally feel that he wants to see her that badly.

Yachi's fingers dance on the keyboard on her phone while a smile is making its way on her face. Hinata will definitely be happy when he heard this good news. She also can't wait to tell it to him.

"This Christmas, wait for me at the airport ;)"

She giggled while hugging her phone to her chest. Two more days.

Hinata heard his phone buzzed. He hurriedly grabs it and reads Yachi's message. A huge smile was formed on his face after he read it. He jumps here and there in excitement.

"Hey guys! Yachi-san said she'll be back on Christmas!" Hinata cheerfully said to his teammates.

"That's great and all but don't you freaking leave the court when you're about to spike, dumbass! We're in the middle of the game!" Kageyama bellowed.

"Oops. Haha. I'm sorry. Let me reply to her first," Hinata types on his phone and put it on the bench afterwards. He runs to the court and gets back to game.

Hinata feels more excited than ever. His excitement affected his game for the whole day. He became more energetic and would always call the ball more often. It seems like he spiked the ball for more than 30 times in a game. Nothing can beat his happiness right now.

Yachi and her mother started packing their stuffs. They will be leaving tomorrow at night so they can arrive early for some Christmas party back home. Yachi is also preparing her speech to Hinata inside her head. She will definitely tell him that she also feels the same. She is sure that her answer will be the biggest gift Hinata will receive for Christmas.

"Hitoka, what are you smiling for? Why are you smiling at your undies?" Yachi's mom asked her daughter.

The blonde girl snapped out of her thoughts and realizes that she was smiling from ear to ear and she is still holding her undies. She feels totally embarrassed.

"Er... I was just thinking something," Yachi said, looking down in embarrassment.

Her mom just hums in reply and continue to pack her stuff.

That was embarrassing.

December 24. Their flight is in just a few minutes. The sky is still dark but the plane is filled with people. Yachi is tired and all so she ended up sleeping the whole time on the flight.
