The scorching sun, the sea, the bikinis, and watermelons! It's the summer again and Yachi's friends decided to go to the sea. Yachi went with them as well because why not? She's about to see her merman friend again and she's excited to see him.
Ever since that summer when they first met, Hitoka would always visit the sea every summer to come to play with Shouyou. But as they grew older, playing becomes boring so they would just talk about the whole year of their lives whenever they would meet. Eight years have already passed and Hitoka now is a fine, young lady. With those years, the two kids' friendship didn't change. Hitoka kept her promise from telling others that she saw a real merman. Not that everyone would believe her though even if she spills it.
Hitoka is currently sitting under a parasol with her two friends in front of the sea, watching people of different ages play on the seashore. Her two friends were talking about something but Yachi ain't listening at all. She is thinking when to call her friend living underwater, especially with this lots of people. She sighs and slurps on her juice. Her two female friends stand up and call her.
"Hey, Hitoka, let's swim!"
"Yeah! And take off that shirt and reveal that nice body of you!"
She's really anxious about wearing a bikini because it exposes too much skin but her friends forced her to. She has no choice but to buy one because they are really persistent.
"N-no thanks. It's embarrassing," she shakes her head with blushing cheeks.
But the two pull her up and drag her near the water. Even if she tries to resist, it's futile. These two are part of the sports club while she's in the Art club. It's obvious that their muscles are more trained than her. They finally got their feet in the water. Her friend scoops water and splashes it onto her friends. The three laughs and splashes water at each other again until their bodies are completely wet. Maybe later at night will do, she thought.
The sun finally sets and the group of friends watches the scene with the ocean breeze slapping their skins. It was really peaceful and beautiful. They sat on the sand near the sea. They already changed their clothes into something comfortable.
"Guys, I brought Uno cards with me! Let's play before sleeping!" One of the three exclaimed.
"Oh, nice! Sure!" The other one commented.
Night, huh? Hitoka has to come up with an excuse to leave later. It was a good chance to meet Shouyou again so she's not going to waste it. She continues to watch the sunset while thinking of a plan to escape later.
Her friends planned to make it an overnight inside the inn nearby. They got a room where they all could share. They didn't have to worry about the food because it's already part of the package and it will just be delivered to their room. They are all in pajamas and sitting on the comfy beds. Before her friend could take out her cards, she excused herself that she has to go to the toilet. Of course, that's just an excuse. Even if she hates lying, she must think of her way out. She walks out of the inn and walks on the seashore, looking at the horizon of the water. She takes out her necklace with a seashell given by her merman friend. She went to a spot with few people and there she dips the seashell then taps it. It didn't create any sound or magical effects like those in anime where the shell would glow. It just stays like that. Shouyou mentioned that it was designed to be like that so it won't attract other people. She waited for a few minutes. She looks at the moon above. The place is not entirely dark because of it.
She hears sloshing sound of the water and her attention went from the moon to the water. A head with orange hair pops up from the surface of the water. As always, he would wear his usual expression whenever the two would meet—a very bright smile. This made Hitoka smile as well. She watches him swims towards her.
