Burned Out Flames

Chapter 4

Later that day I was with Archer and I never attended any of my classes. I'd most likely regret it the next day but I won't stress about it. " I should be going to bed now its dark " , I said.

" We could do a lot of things in the dark ", He responded. I glared at him and he held his hands up in defense , " I'm kidding...not entirely ".

I got up because I wasn't going to stay out any longer , already missed my classes now I need to sleep. He stood up and dusted off his pants, " I'll walk you to your dorm ". " I can alone thanks ".

" It's not safe for a beautiful young lady to be walking alone in the dark ". I started walking.

" Oh , so I'm safe with you ? ".

" I'll protect you with everything I own even if it results in my death".

" Since when did you get so cheesy ? ", I asked.

" You like cheese don't you ? ".

" No...I prefer cream cheese ".

" See I learned something new today".  I sighed as we came up to my door and opened my door then walked in and closed the door in his face.

" That's not a very polite way to end the night ". I opened the door , " Good night Archer ".

With a sly grin on his face he responded , " Night Akilah ". I watched as he walked away down the hall then eventually closed the door. If he thought he was going to get me back that easy , he'll have to think again.

Finally it was the weekend and I get to binge watch my favorite T.V shows and be a complete bum. Just as the show was getting to the good part I got a knock on the door. I groaned and paused the video then answered the door and as soon as I saw who was knocking I went to close the door but the slick little devil slid his foot in.

" Yeaaah not this time " , Archer said.

" Its too early for this ".

He checked his watch , " It's 2:30 ".

How long was I awake ?

" What do you want ? ", I asked. " I want to take you out ". Do you really ?

" I'm not in the mood to go out , Now can you leave so I can watch my show ? ".

" Oooh what are we watching ? ", He asked and walked right in. Excuse me ? I guess manners don't exist anymore either.

" I AM watching Grey's Anatomy and YOU are leaving my personal and sacred area ". I put my hands on his stomach to push him away but he just wouldn't shove. I should probably go to the gym more or something but that's not really necessary so never mind.

He wiggled his eyebrows, " Ooh look at you being dominant ". " Archer...The door ", I said as I pointed to the door. He sighed and backed away and out of my room.

" I'll be back Akilah ".

" I'm sure you will sweetheart ". I shut the door and dived into my bed and continued enjoying my bummy afternoon.

It was nearly ten at night when I got on my door. " Go away Archer ", I yelled and got out of bed. " I didn't even say anything ". I opened the door and came face to face with him.

" I can smell you from a mile away ".

" You have to admit I smell pretty damn good ". I think that's something we can agree on for the first time. But instead of saying out loud I rolled my eyes.

" Do you want to come in ? ".

" Plea- wait what ? ".

" I'm not asking you again ". And I quick as I said it he came right in and took a seat on my bed.

" This is nice ".

" Yeah don't get too comfortable ". I sat next to him. As a response , he took off his shoes and jacket then decided to get comfortable in my bed. Tonight was going to be a long one.
