I struggled with all my strength, but nothing worked. My wrists were on fire. Man, their grip was strong. He was getting closer and closer. I was too tired from running, and my body went limp. My uncle was two feet away from me. He got ready to strike. I tightened my eyes closed waiting for my death, but it never came.
I opened my eyes slowly, and he was gone. I looked down at my feet and blood was everywhere. I didn't care about the blood. It was the person at my feet that caught my attention. I was speechless. The grip around my wrists loosened. I fell to my knees with tears streaming down my face. "Ventra! Please! Please answer me." I shook her gently. Nothing happened. There was a nice gash across her chest.
Her eyes fluttered open but very slowly. "Aylia, is that you?" Her voice was very weak. I smiled still with tears in my eyes. "Yes. Yes I'm here. Why would you sacrifice yourself for me?" She smiled up at me. "I care to much for you to see you go. Please Aylia. Be careful there is someone waiting for you." I was confused. "Who is it?" Ventra shook her head. "I've said too much. Remember Aylia. I will always love you." A tear ran down her face. I hugged her. "I love you, too."
Her eyes rolled to the back of her head. A strong grip wrapped around my arms. A figure stood over Ventra and was ready to kick her over the side. "Please! Just leave her alone. She didn't do anything to you." Tears were running down my face. My pleas never reached his ears. It was like slow motion. Her body was falling so slowly.
Tears streamed down my face the whole way to this enormous ship. I was dragged inside and thrown on the ground in a room. The room was cold and dark. I couldn't see anything. "Hello?" I called in to the darkness. Only silence and darkness answered back.
I picked myself up and walked over to the window. I looked outside and saw a limp body. Drew. I had totally forgotten about him. There were strips of cloth wrapped around his open wounds. Blood stained the cloth. I couldn't look at him.
I turned around and slid down the window till I hit the floor. I curled up in a ball. I cried myself to sleep. I woke up still in that dark room. I could barely make out a figure standing in the distance. The figure was staring at me. "Hello?" No response came to me. "Look I know you're there. Show yourself before you get hurt."
The figure slowly walked from the shadows. "You know I can kill right on the spot. You are very brave my girl for standing up to me." I tensed up. "Hello uncle." I turned my back on him before he could say another word. I kept my eyes on Drew. "If you're wondering about the boy, he will soon go back to your pathetic alliance," Thanks. That's so reassuring.
"It's getting late. You should probably get to your room. It's on the left. I hadn't noticed what time it was. I didn't budge from the window. "Aylia. Don't make this difficult." I still didn't budge. Before I even knew it, two troopers grabbed my arms. They wouldn't take me without a fight. I struggled with all my might. I soon felt a sharp pain race through my head. Everything went black.
I woke in a cold, dark room. I had a massive headache. I slowly got up. Blood stained my pillow. I walked toward the window. Everything was dark. Happy 19th birthday to me.
