"You what!?" Felix questioned springing from his seat. "I gave her the last of the truth potion last night." Peter said repeating himself, agitated that Felix couldn't get over the smallest of things.

"Peter you do realize how dangerous that could've been. You didn't know if she could've even handle that kind of magic-" "It was worth a shot. I don't know what she is or where she came from. Felix, she won't share about who she is, which makes her a threat." Peter explained quickly glaring at the blond headed boy.

Over time the scar that etched its way down Felix's face had healed so that it was more bearable for the human eye to set upon. Or it was possible the fact that everyone had gotten use to the constant reminder. "So you didn't do it because you have certain feelings for her?" "I what?" "Have certain feelings for her." "Why would you even dare think that?" Agitation was clear in his voice by the point.

"She went in your tent last night and hasn't came out yet. Boys get a bit suspicious when that occurs." "But I don't even know the girl." "Neither did Mathew." Felix commented giving Peter a pointed look.

Peter sighed angrily tossing an old trusty dagger onto the meeting's table. "Did she even tell you anything that was worth hearing?" "No, she resisted it even under the potion." Peter shaking his head as he stood for the chair that had been supporting him. "Which makes her even more stronger than what I would have ever suspected." He added before the room fell silent. Felix shifted from where he sat, growing slightly uncomfortable.

"I apologize for wasting your time, you are free to go," Peter said bluntly staring at the ground ahead of him, still in deep thought. Felix stood obediently, but as he walked by Peter on his way out he grabbed him lightly by the arm. Grabbing the boy's undivided attention, he shifted his eyes up to Felix. "All I'm saying is that you shouldn't get too close to the girl. Distance yourself before you actually get feelings for her." He mumbled lowly to the brown headed boy before leaving the room.

Waking with a jolt Alivia shot up. Scanning around the room her eyes landed on a shadowed figure that sat at the old desk. "Peter?" She quizzed slipping out of the covers.

"Fraid not doll," the person beamed standing up. "Who are-" "I'm Newton, Peter's cousin, but you can call me Newt for short," he explained holding out a hand to shake. Shaking it hesitantly she returned the smile. "Alivia."

"So Alivia I'm here today because I'm going to teach ya how to defend yourself with a sword. But before we get into that I need to teach you basic hand-to-hand compact since you can not always rely on your trusty steele." He explained quickly not taking a single breathe as he turned and guided her out of the door.

After Alivia had changed into a more "appropriate" attire they both went to the weaponry to choose a sword that Alivia could use. She ended up choosing the only one that felt balanced in her hands. Yes, it wasn't the most jaw-dropping sword there was. But that doesn't mean it couldn't cause great destruction.

"Before we start anything we need to show each other that this is peaceful, nothing violent." Newt said angling his sword slightly to the left. He opened his mouth to tell her what to do next, yet she only rolled her eyes and angled hers to the right and touched hers with his own. "You already know-" "I know how to use a sword I've had for a while now." She explained cutting him off.

With a sly smirk placing itself on his lips, he spoke with daunting words. "Then let's begin." He brought her over to a more secluded side of camp. Where the tents faced their backs to them and trees making a blockade around the duo.

"We are going to start with a personal favorite, the eye gouge is exactly what it sounds like. Either two fingers are thrust into the eyes sockets or two thumbs. Fingers are aimed to slide in under the eyeballs while thumbs should be aimed for the inner corners of the eye, near the nose. Either way, the goal is to scoop the eyes out or crush them inside the occipital cavity." He explained demonstrating on a dummy. After a couple of times of intensely watching, she tried it out herself.

Bring up her hands, she shoved one of her thumbs threw the dummy's eyes with the other hand placed on its forehead. "Nice," Newt commented giving a small light hearted smile. "The force that you inflicted on the dummy gave me goosebumps," he said giving off a toothy grin. Yet, when he saw that she didn't show the slightest bit of humor he cleared his throat. "Let's move on shall we?"

"Next we are going to try out the elbow strike. Any elbow strike can do some damage. There's the low-to-high that strikes an enemy beneath the chin, the horizontal that smashes into a soft spot of the body or face, and then there's striking an enemy in the base of the skull with an elbow strike.

It requires that the target is doubled over to work well, so this is a great way to finish the fight after a Long Knee or a solid strike to the stomach or groin." He explained not leaving out a single detail for her to pick up on. He brought up his elbow and placed his hand on the other side of her head. He showed the correct places where to hit a threat in the specific area and how much force she would need to put into the action.

"When a fighter wants to knee the enemy but there's a little too much space to come up directly, they use the long knee and move forward with their strike. It works even better when they can get a hold of the target and pull them toward the knee. Aim for the soft parts of the abdomen or the groin to really do some damage." He said using detail to help Alivia to get the information wrapped around her mind more easily.

Alivia turned to try the move out on the dummy. Grasping it by it's shoulders she hunched over kneeing the dummy up its abdomen. But in the midst of doing so, Newt stopped her. "You don't want to hunch over while doing it. It'll give you a higher risk of not causing any damage at all. Instead," he said placing on hand on her left shoulder and the other on her waist.

"You want to have a straight back and lean back," he said murmuring the words in her ear, and with that he straightened her back up for her and coaxed her back slightly.

Tensely she let out a breathe that she had been holding in and nodded. "I think I got it now, thanks," she said referring to the hands that he had placed on her. He nodded smiling and took his hands off of her.

Before Newt could utter another word, Peter and a small group of boys came through from the tangled mess of the jungle. "I could teach a women how to defend herself without putting my hands all over her," Peter said slyly to his cousin has he paused by causing Newt to smile. "If you could do so much better how about you do it yourself," he retorted without hesitation.

The cocky look that was placed on Peter's face disappeared and was replaced with a stoic gaze. "I'm too busy," he said without another word he reached past the tents. Newt snickered to himself as he lifted up his bag that he carried on him at all times.

"Practice is over for today," Newt said looking over at Alivia. "What? So soon?" "You don't want to miss diner don't you? Tonight's a celebration," Newt informed her as he started to walk away. Alivia ran up right next to him. "A celebration for what?" "Every month on the tenth we celebrate everyone's birthday that are in that month," He explained glancing down to her from time to time.

"Are they fun?" "What do you mean?" "Like, I don't know, fun?" "Oh doll, of course they are." He said grinning at her.
