I looked at Bash. Good question. I bet that the whole Anna situation had died down so I decided to go to Magnolia. I think that what made me more nervous was the fact that we would have to go through Sea Crest. I was worried that I would see Mary and that she would shun me. I leaned up against one of the poles and let the sea breeze wash upon my face. Bash came over and sat down next to me.
¨Finally,¨ Said Bash, ¨We can go home and breathe.¨ Wow I hadn't really thought about just taking a deep breath.
¨Yeah, it will be nice to go home and see my mom and dad. What do you think they're going to say when we get there?¨ I asked.
¨I don't know. We can ask them.¨ He said.
Then without warning Bash pulled me in for a kiss. This time however I didn't feel guilty. I felt glad that I was kissing Bash. Jack may have been looking but at least then he would know what a real kiss looked like.
"So you'll kiss him but not me? Come on! Really?" He said with a snicker. "Knew it!" He said under his breath. "I knew there was something between you guys!"
I put my hand around Bash's hair and he did the same. I just blocked out all that Jack was saying. It really did feel like a fairytale ending. It was now completely dark and Bash kept first watch while Jack and I slept.
"Land ho!" Yelled Bash in the middle of the night.
Although we had only been on the ship for a couple of hours it felt like months. I raced Jack to my feet and even took a moment to compose myself.
"Are you serious? Land?"
I went up to the bow and looked over the horizon. There I could see the outskirts of Sea Crest. A few minutes later we pulled into the dock.
It was still late at night so hopefully everyone was sleeping. We came to the port and tied down the boat. Climbing off I waited for Bash and Jack.
"Okay now we have to be quiet." I said in a hushed voice. We went up the hill careful to not step on anything. When we finally got to the top Bash stood on the rock and started out onto Sea Crest. Through the village we crept quietly. A snap in the background broke the silence. My head whipped around.
¨Jack,¨
¨Sorry, sorry,¨ he said looking down at the ground. Up the hill we went being extra cautious. When we finally got up to the rock Bash looked up at the ship and the waterline. I put my hand on Bash's shoulder. Gently I said,
¨Come on we best be going.¨
