POEM: What I am and You Are Not

You assume you can judge someone,

On the matter of their looks,

But you can't judge the stories,

From the covers of their books,

You think you can define me,

Someone weak and small,

But did you forget,

The bigger you are,

The harder you'll fall,

Let me help you realise,

That everything is not as it seems,

I hold a raging sea,

And a head full of dreams,

I'm the treetops of the forest,

The howling wind at night,

I'm the roaring fire in the cold,

The day and all its light,

I'm the cloudless sky above you,

The ground beneath your feet,

I'm the moon above the rooftops,

The earth's steady beat,

I'm all these things,

That you are not,

My heart is full of honesty,

While yours is going to rot,

And one last thing before you go,

Now that I have told you all of this,

It's something you'll never forget,

Something you'll want to miss.
