There was a sound of leaves rustling above, in the trees that filled the quiet forest. The cool wind that blew through the forest pushing everything into action. A centaur smiled as he galloped through the quiet scene, disrupting the peace, his hooves kicking up dried leaves from the ground. The small handbag that hung at his side swaying in the wind. In a fluid motion the centaur stopped and looked up into the trees, and for a second all seemed to quiet down, the antelopes in the forest continued on with their lives, and the leaves resumed their constant ruffling. The centaur smiled, having found exactly what he was looking for. An apple, red and ripe, just perfect for a snack, the centaur decided.
Propping his hoof on the bark, the centaur reached out to grab the apple. His hoof, having other plans, decided to slip from the bark, causing the centaur to fall and hit his chin on the trunk. Rubbing his jaw, the centaur huffed indignantly. "Well then." the centaur laughed, slamming his back legs against the trunk. A few leaves and a couple apples fell from the tree and scattered to the ground.
"what a rude tree" the centaur huffed angrily, turning away from the apple tree and trotting back into the forest.

The sound of the centaur's hooves hitting the dirt echoed through the forest as the centaur walked angrily back to the apple tree. He couldn't just leave it, he was much too proud to give up now.
Smirking at his apparently wonderful idea, the centaur picked up speed, galloping head on into the apple tree, ramming directly into the bark.
This time, not even a stray leaf fell.
Rubbing his shoulder, the centaur frowned at the tree, "fine have it your way!' he said sarcastically.
Turning back towards the tree, the centaur propped his front legs against the trunk, this time not slipping on the sodden bark like a newborn colt.

The siren smiled as he swam further under the murky water, the long spikes along his back lighting up the cave around him. Large formations of rock surrounded him, stones shining even in the murky water.
The cave siren smiled as he swam towards the cave floor, reaching out a scaled hand to rummage through the bed, grabbing a handful of rocks. A couple pebbles fell out of his hand as he looked through them, but the siren didn't seem to care, one specific rock catching his eye. It was an orangish red in color and almost looked like one of the shiny gemstones his mother had shown him along time ago before she left.
Small silver fish flashed across his vision, not bothering to catch any right now, the siren swam up to the surface.
Humming happily, the cave siren eyed the rippling water, he could still see the silver fish swimming around under the surface and there were a couple water skitters skating around the rippling water.
