Nervousness.
That's all I felt at meeting the rest of the pack. I was left alone up in my own room in the large, white house after meeting with Mrs. Keela and Jim, but it was time to come down for dinner. I couldn't even bring myself to consider skipping dinner since I hadn't eaten a proper meal in almost a full 24 hours.
"Hannah, you coming?" Kai made a loud knock on my closed door and I automatically rose up off of sitting on my twin bed.
"Uh, yeah. I'm coming. I'll be down in a second." I responded loudly. Glancing in the mirror that was above my small dresser, I quickly fixed the stray pieces of my long, white hair and straightened my shirt. I looked pretty pathetic after the long day.
I made my way downstairs and approached the dining table. The whole Keela pack was gathered around the large, spacious eating area and busily talking loudly and laughing. They all fell quiet when I sat down at the last empty spot, right beside Kai.
"Eat whatever you would like, dear." Mrs. Keela smiled brightly at me from her spot next to Jim at the head of the table. She gestured to the feast spread out before everyone. "We're mostly a meat eating family of course, so excuse me for the lack of vegetables and whatnot."
"Oh, meat is just fine. Everything looks so good!" I smiled shyly and copied what the other members of the pack were doing. They rowdily piled up their plates full of all different kinds of meat that Mrs. Keela had so deliciously prepared.
"We went for a long, far hunt today so don't pay any mind to the eating habits of our children." Jim explained to me through large mouthfuls of food.
"Wait, these are all your kids?" I asked surprised. When I first heard that this was a pack, I had automatically assumed that everyone had been turned at some point in their lives.
Jim let out a low laugh that grumbled out from his deep chest. "Of course they are! Well, nine of them are mine and Nancy's biological children and Aaron and Alissa were adopted. Aaron and Alissa are those two over there on the other end of the table. They're twins."
Jim had gestured to the two blond members of the pack who were sitting next to each other. I hadn't noticed before, but the whole pack sported dark brown hair except for the two blondes, Aaron and Alissa. They looked to be about my age, maybe a year or two older, and very good looking. Especially, Aaron.
Aaron's blond hair was worn a little shorter than Kai's messier silver style. He had tan skin from being outside often and icy blue penetrating eyes. His face was near perfect with a strong jawline and handsome features. I almost felt my cheeks going hot from just looking at him, but then remembered I was supposedly "dating" Kai.
I glanced at Alissa a few times after. She was very similar to Aaron with long blond hair and the same cold blue eyes. Her facial features were comparable also and she looked beautiful in a menacing, dangerous kind of way.
"You're hair is so pretty!" I was distracted from looking at the blond twins by a little girl who had left her seat to come talk to me. Big round brown eyes gazed up at me as she ran her hand through some of my white hair.
"Oh, thank you..." I mumbled off nervously and gave her a smile. "What's your name?" I asked her.
"Carissa," She responded and continued to feel my hair. Carissa looked to be about ten, but I couldn't be sure. Did werewolves grow up slower? So many things I didn't know...
"What a pretty name! I'm Hannah," I watched as Carissa continued to mess around with my hair and give me shy glances. She chatted with me for a while before Mrs. Keela told her she had to finish her supper back at her own seat.
