Chapter 31 "Lie"

“Are you ready? You’re looking good” I said to Harry. Today my mum and I were going to Mr Miller’s house. Finally I could convince her after telling her I was seeing him almost these pasts few days and he was helping me with these whole situation, and Harry was driving us so he was going to meet my mum today.

“I’m feeling sick, seriously”

“She’s gonna love you, you’re charming”

“Yeah, that’s true” he said giggling. I kissed his lips softly and hugged him before taking his hand.

“You’ll be good”

“Hope so” in that moment I opened the door and shouted mum.

“I’m coming darling” said my mum from upstairs.

When my mum showed up in the hall Harry held my hand tighter. I knew he was super nervous.

“Oh, you must be Harry right?”

“Yes ma’am, I’m Harry, so nice to meet ya” my mum smiled and handed his hand to Harry.

“The pleasure is mine. I can finally meet you! Leah didn’t tell me much about you because she was upset. I’m glad you’re ok now though”

“Thank you ma’am”

“Oh, please call me Laura” he nodded and smiled at her. I knew he was getting more and more relaxed right now. We grabbed our things and headed to Harry’s car. Once there, my mum started asking him stupid questions about him. What was his mum’s name, how old was he? Etc etc.

“Mum, please! Stop it! This is so embarrassing!” I said and Harry giggled.

“Leah, it’s ok, it doesn’t bother me”

“But it does to me!” I said.

“Ok, ok, I’ll shut my mouth, I’m not going to talk anymore”

“Good, thanks!” I said in relief.

“Wait, what was your favourite food again?” she asked again.

“Mum!!”

“Ok, ok”

“It’s tacos” he answered laughing.

“Oh, yeah, that’s right” I turned up the volume from the radio to end this conversation about Harry and my mum. I didn’t want to mess things up now that we were back together and my mum wasn’t helping at all. She was always saying embarrassing things about me, so it was better to shut her up just a little bit.

We stayed quiet the rest of the ride and finally we arrived to the big perfect mansion of Marcus. My mum got out of the car but I stayed a little longer.

“Well, I’ll come back in a couple of hours ok?” he said. I tried to convince him to stay but he said this was just a familiar thing and didn’t want to be involved so he was going to take us here and then he will pick us up in a couple of hours.

“Ok, I’m gonna miss you”

“Me too love. I’d kiss you but your mum’s out there so… that’s not gonna happen. By the way she’s so funny. I like her”

“Seriously? I’m sorry but sometimes she could be very annoying”

“Well, not at all, she’s a nice woman. She looks like you, well you look like your mother” we both laughed and I kissed him on the cheek.

“Call you later ok?”

“Ok, bye Leah”

I closed the door of his car and he started fading away.
