Being A Good Brother

Casey's POV

As I pushed the door open, I see Jimin holding a glass of water at the bottom of the flight of stairs. "Do you know what time is it?Where were-" he then stopped & frowned when he saw Jung Kook behind me.

He was about to open his mouth but I quickly ran to him to close his mouth. "Don't start. He saved me from being attacked by a drunk man. Please be a good brother to him. Please." I whispered in his ear.

Jimin gave a loud sigh before firmly saying,"Get up to your room & take a shower. We need to talk first thing in the morning. After breakfast." Jung Kook gave a slight nod before dragging himself up the flight of stairs. I gave a small smile at the sight of the brothers. It's a beautiful sight. A sight I've never experienced first hand before since I don't have a sibling. Not even parents.

"Oppa,what are you doing at this hour?" I asked as I wrapped my arm around his waist.

"Studying. You should too."

"Umm...well...you know I have to sleep so that I can wake up early & do this thing. And then do this thing..." I tried making an excuse. I'm not like Jimin who can stay awake at this hour,studying. My eyes will get itchy & when I rub them, they get swollen every time I study. Hmm...I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to studying. Well, only at night that is. Hehehe...

Jimin chuckled. "Mmm...kay. Whatever you say. Goodnight." He gave a small peck on the lips before going into his room.

When I was left alone, I gave a loud sigh. I felt tons of weight lifted of my shoulders. I hope this household can be peaceful just like just now. Now I can finally sleep in peace.

Jimin's POV

I fell asleep on my study table while studying again. Wake up in the morning with a cram on my neck,great...

I stood up & dragged myself downstairs to make breakfast for everyone. Usually Casey would do it but since she came home late, I'm pretty sure she's dozing off. I'll just let her be because if I wake her up,or anybody in a matter of fact, you may come face to face with a super cranky girl. It's like waking up a sleeping lion. Psh! So much for waking up early.

As I was transferring bacon from the frying pan to the plates, Jung Kook came down the stairs & sat opposite me. He didn't even spare a glance at me & just read his maths notes.

I've been reflecting back on how I've treated Jung Kook all night. I guess I was being harsh on him ever since Casey came to our house for the first time. And I was even harsher when Casey & I started going out. I've been so stressed with school work but that shouldn't be an excuse to treat my little brother so badly.

"Ya, what happened last night?You looked like a mess." I said without looking at him. But he didn't answer. "Ya!" I finally looked at him.

"What!?! You're talking to me?" He asked me furiously.

"Who do you think I was talking to!?!" I shouted back at him.

"It's just so unlike you to be curious about me so I thought you weren't talking to me. Anyways, you don't have to shout at me! I'm trying to study for the test later." When he said that I was never curious of him, my heart aches. I'm the eldest here & Dad is never at home. I should take Dad's place in taking charge of the house. But all I did was scolding Tae Hyung & Jung Kook non-stop.

"Hey, I'm sorry for not being a good brother to you ever since Casey first moved in. I'll try to be a better brother starting from now." I said while giving an apologetic look.

"Well, maybe you should take baby steps. I'm not used to it. It's so awkward." I nodded while chuckling a little.

"Good morning, my sweet people!" Casey greeted happily while coming down the stairs.

"Well, well. Look at who has finally woken up. I thought you were never gonna wake up." I said sarcastically.

"Hey! Becareful of what you wish for~" Casey said jokingly.

"I know. I know. You're studying for your test too?" I asked.

"Yup!" She smiled before looking at her maths notes in front of her.

"Where's Tae Hyung?" Jung Kook asked.

"He's unwell so he's now in bed. I'm not going to school to take care of him." I answered. Jung Kook just nodded.

After we have eaten our breakfast, Jung Kook & Casey got ready for school. For the first time ever, I walked towards Jung Kook & hugged him. It took a few seconds before Jung Kook & Casey came back into reality. Both Jung Kook & Casey widen their eyes, obviously taken aback.

"Hyung~ What did I say!?! Baby steps!" Jung Kook's face turned red as he pushed me away. I just back away, laughing.

"Good luck on your test, guys!" I gave Casey a side hug before waving them goodbye at the door.
