Hey everyone! Lotte here, and recently I have been making a lot of covers where the models have glowing eyes, so I thought I'd do a little tutorial on it just in case anyone wants to know how to do it.
Sadly, this tutorial is on photoshop, but if you would like me to do a similar tutorial for pixlr, then just ask c;
Here are some examples:
Step 1
Open photoshop, and create your cover with the dimensions 320 x 500 or 512 x 800. You must complete your cover before you add glowing eyes, and make sure everything is sized properly before making your model's eyes glow because it is much easier, unless you want to merge down the adjustments to your model layer.
Step 2
Choose the 'quick selection' tool like show below.
Step 3
Highlight the irises of your model. It is much easier to get glowing eyes if your model has a lighter eye colour, but it can still work no matter the colour.
Step 4
Click on the 'Brightness/Contrast' option on the adjustment panel, and change the settings until your models eyes appear like they are glowing.
Step 5 [optional]
Duplicate the adjustment layer you just created for added effect.
Final product:
And you're done! Sorry for the extremely basic tutorial, but this method has proved the easiest way I have found to alter eye colour and make them appear like they are glowing. I hope it helped, and stay tuned for another cover tutorial coming very soon ;)
