When I got home my adrenaline was all the way up. I was ready. I knew tonight would be the night and I couldn't have been happier.

The only downfall to all of this was Alex. I had my thoughts about him being their son from when I saw him walk down the stairs with his parents at the mascaraed ball. I wasn't sure if it was him as everyone was masked but as I said it wasn't until then that I realised just how much attention I pay to people, for me to be able to recognise you from your eyes, voice and walk.

It was confirmed completely when I arrived to his parents house which was indeed the same place the ball was held.

I wondered how I could have made such a mistake. But as he calls himself Alex and not Alejandro and his surname isn't Santiago; which I'm assuming he changed. That was why I never knew.

Was definitely a shame because I really liked him. Love? Not sure, never loved before. But the feelings for him were strong. That's why when he insisted we went away I said okay.

I had manage to keep him on the phone long enough for me to get dressed and leave. So by the time he would arrive to me I would be outside his house ready to kill.

I left a note for him. Was the least I could do.

As I made my way downstairs my phone rang. It was my sister Kiki. I wasn't going to answer but she kept ringing.

"Yes Kiki!" I answered frustratedly.

"Karmen! You have to go. You have to leave!"

"What?"

"I'm so sorry I've made the biggest mistake ever! You have to leave."

"What are you on about? Now isn't the time. I'll call you back."

"NO!! KARMEN CARDENAS WOULD YOU LISTEN TO ME FOR ONCE IN YO LIFE!!" She shouted as her voice shook.

"I'm listening Kiki. You sound like you're scared. What's wrong?"

"I have a daughter..."

"Pardon?"

"I have a daughter. You have a niece.. she's 16. I gave her away when she was born."

Shocked was an understatement but I really didn't have time for this.

"Okay.. well what has you having a daughter got to do with why I have to leave?"

"It was her birthday yesterday. I was upset. I got drunk. I didn't know what I was saying. All I know is I got a text from someone saying if I'm willing to give up my sisters whereabouts there's more money in it for me. I was confused. I decided to try and remember everything but I couldn't. It wasn't until I saw a bag of money at my door. I'm assuming that's what they meant. I can't even remember who they are. I'm so so sorry..."

I sighed. This really wasn't what I needed.

"Kiki. You need to leave. You need to go and stay at a hotel. When we come off this phone break it and get the burner phone in your draw by your bed. Yes. I put one there. When you get to a hotel... call me."

"Okay. Okay. I've got the phone I'm grabbing the money and leaving now." She said.

Just as I was about to say okay I heard her scream followed by two gunshots.
