#9 :: The Contract Killer

I was enjoying my night in the strip club when I got the call that we had been hit. Not only had we been hit but three of my best men were killed.

Of course I would think the Alfonzo's were behind it but when I heard they had been hit too I knew something wasn't right.

I hated to call Rolan but I had been getting a call from an unknown number and I just knew it was Mr Santiago. I didn't have a way of explaining why this happened or who it could be so I needed to meet with Rolan first before I spoke with him.

When I arrived to the docks Rolan was already there. I hadn't brought any men and neither had he. This was serious.

"Rolan."

"Juan."

"Three warehouses?"

"Yup. You too?"

"Yep. And three of my best men."

"Three of my best men were the time when I thought it was you."

"So there's definitely a pattern."

"So have you heard the rumours?"

"Rumours?"

"That's there's a contract killer."

"No, I haven't."

"Well, they ain't certain but he could be behind the Belmontez massacre. When my three men were hit from what I've been told. It was just them. Three clean shots. All head shots. No one in sight. If they were able to kill them three. Why not kill them all?" Rolan said.

"Well my three best were on watch today. All different locations. All hit. So it can't be just one person." I said.

"But why? Why are they after us?"

"That's exactly what I want to know." A voice said startling us both.

"Mr Santiago." We both said surprised to see him.

"Mr Pascal... why are you not answering my calls?"

"With all due respect I had just been hit. I was trying to sort that out, my phone wasn't a priority."

"Yet here you are with Mr Alfonzo. Surely someone had to make this call?"

"Everything that happened to me happened to Rolan. It's clear this person is behind both hits. So I called him to meet." I said.

"Or... you lot are behind this and are trying to stiff me." Mr Santiago said as he placed his guns on the table.

"No no no. There's a contract killer!" Rolan blurted out.

I shook my head. We didn't know this for certain.

"Sorry?"

"There's a contract killer. So.. so I've been told. And they are meant to be behind the Belmontez and my three men. Then now today with my warehouses and Juans warehouses plus three of his men. See pattern?"

"Can you confirm this information is correct?"

"Were working on it" Rolan said.

Mr Santiago laughed.

"So this mere speculation? Okay, let's say you lot was right. Do you know what this means?"

"We have to kill the contract killer."

"No. What this means is, they aren't after you. They don't want you, you are just a mere pawn in this. If what you said is true. They've already wiped out the belmontez. They've now fucked up months worth of business. They want me. They are trying to take everyone and everything out. To get to me. Or... this could be a diversion, and it's you lot that want me dead, it's you lot behind this."

"That's definitely not it." I said.

"Well, whatever it is. I need answers, I need proof. Then I need that motherfuckers head on my table. Gentleman, make sure it happens, because it's either his head, or yours." Mr Santiago said before leaving.

"So what do you think?" Rolan asked me.

"I think whoever it is, is going to slip up. We need to check our cctv footages and go back to the warehouses. Look for anything that can lead us back to the person. If you find anything call me. And I'll do the same." I said before I left.

I never thought much about this contract killer before but if the rumours are true then maybe I should hire this contract killer. That would be the best way to catch a rat.
