CHAPTER 10
THE SIDHE
ANA POV
I awoke to eyes staring into mine. I blinked and stared blearily at Lai who smiled. I wanted to roll over and go back to sleep but I resisted the urge. Lai seemed distraught despite the smile on her face.
"What is It Lai?" She blinked and looked at me in suspicion at my tone. I chuckled as I sat up, pulling the sheet around me. Zak exited the bathroom at the same moment and we both turned to look at him. His hair was wet and draped across his shoulders. There were beads of water glistening on his naked chest that made me want to go over and lick at them. I watched as some of the beads slid down into his leather pants and an image of last night flooded my mind.
"Ana?" Blushing I looked from Zak to Lai. She was biting her lip. I raised a brow and she stopped. "Can you and my Uncle walk us to school today?" I knew she wanted something but I didn't know why she was nervous about it. I nodded and she turned briskly and left the room. I turned to Zak as he slid a blue t-shirt on.
"You know she's up to something, right?" He glanced at me and grinned broadly.
"What could she possibly be up to?" I rolled my eyes.
"I have two sisters. Trust me she's up to something alright." Standing I let the sheet drop and walked to the dresser. I grabbed a black tank top and daisy duke shorts then I headed for the bathroom. I didn't try to convince him about Lai. He'd figure it out soon enough.

Twenty minutes later were walking down a dirt path behind the castle. We exited a grove of trees and entered the town of Sidhe that Zac had built. I gazed intently at my surroundings. The shops were all colorful and brightly painted. They were also meticulous. I paused at a dress shop to look at the window display of a beautiful gold and purple dressed but it would never look good on me. I was much too tomboy for it. I'd wear a mini skirt sometimes but not a dress especially a girly one. I stepped back as two children dashed in front of me. I looked up to make eye contact with their mother who was standing in front of the door to the shop. I started to smile until I saw the look in her eyes. There was so much hate and distrust there that I almost took a step away from her but I stopped myself.
Then I glanced around to see everyone had stopped what they were doing and were staring at us. I'd been so busy admiring their homes and shops that I hadn't seen the outright hostility on their faces. I clenched my fists and looked straight ahead as I turned and went to catch up to Zak.
It was then I saw the fountain and the two women dancing in it. They had matching white dresses on but they were very transparent white dresses. They both had neon red hair with midnight streaks in it. The main difference between them was height. One was barely five feet while the other was at least six foot two. Yet they seemed identical in every other way including demeanor. They both stopped and attempted curtsies as Zak stopped at the edge of the fountain. Reluctantly, I stepped beside him as the kids paused several feet behind us.
"Clea and Rae, it is lovely to see you enjoying yourselves." He grasped my elbow and pulled me in front of him.
"This is Ana, my s..." He paused and looked at me as the taller girl stepped forward to clasp my hand.
"I am Clea. This is Rae. We are very glad to meet you." I felt a power slide up my arm into my mind but I quickly slammed the door shut. Clea gasped and withdrew her hand.
"I am sorry that was unintentional. Rae and I have a gift that works its own will." I looked at Zak.
"They are twins and they have foresight of sorts. It is very unpredictable but usually one will see half of a vision and later the other will see the rest or the one will see only pieces of a vision." The women seemed to find his words hilarious because they both chuckled as they lifted their short dresses so they could step out of the fountain. Rae tossed her hair back and looked at me as she let her dress slide back down to mid thigh.
