DEDICATED TO MY FIRST BESTIE
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
GLADIATOR
ANA POV
"If I get hurt do you want me to try and spare you love?" Zac's chuckled drifted through my mind as he spoke.
"Don't bother I will revel in any badges of courage you receive. Then when we get home I will revel in helping you bandage every single one."
"Some how I don't think you're talking about wounds anymore but about sex, again."
"I love you my Wildfire. Do not let this fool harm you too badly."
"I love you too Zacoanaias. Try not to distract me with your gorgeous body." He chuckled as I pushed him to the back of my mind. It wasn't hard to mind speak with him when he was always there inside of me. I heard a gong go off as I took off my hat and pulled my hat into a ponytail. I watched Alpha start to tremble and change shape but I didn't draw my swords yet.
I waited till he turned into a huge black wolf that towered over me by at least four feet. His eyes homed in on me and his jaws snapped as he charged me but I waited until he was an inch from me before bright purple fire leapt across my body and I slammed my fist into the side of the jaw. He yelped and flew into the wall as the wolves howled and snarled. I waited until he had shaken himself off and was looking at me, then I called my swords of fire. He blinked and the wolves fell silent as they realized what that meant. I really was a Diha, a warrior. I raised them in the air then let them fade out with my fire. Then I spoke.
"I think that for my parents and for Racheal I'll play with you a little first. Bring it." I crouched on the balls of my feet and took a fighters stance then did the ultimate insult. I raised my palm and flicked my fingers towards me and dared him to come get me. He snarled in fury and charged like I knew he would. I waited till he was within inches of me and Sidhe dashed behind him, striking him in-between his shoulder blades.
But I misjudged his speed and he raked his claws into my side, underneath my ribs. My blow caused him to release me and he took a chunk out of my side as he went. I clasped my side as he sat on his haunches and ate my flesh off his claws. He meant to intimidate me but all I felt was a wave of fury. He had done the same to Racheal, to torture her.
I felt the fire rise and I let it come, knowing it would cauterize my wound, to staunch the bleeding, and okay I was too pissed to control it. I let him see my fury as he rose to charge again and I felt a whisper of something behind me. I whirled and caught the arrow before it hit me but I'd taken my eyes off Alpha and I felt him leap on my back. His claws dug in and I fell to my knees as I felt his muzzle move close to my ear as he spoke.
"You will die slowly and I will enjoy it more than I did your parents. Your mother screamed as she died, just like you will." The fury pounded through me and I let it. Bringing my right arm up I slammed my elbow into his head, knocking him off of me.
I rolled to my feet as I shrieked in anger and sorrow. I was unaware that it was my banshee shriek until I'd already struck him in the muzzle five or six times. I stopped shrieking as I panted from exertion and called my swords. I felt blood slide down my cheeks as I looked down at him and spoke.
"I am Anarika and I am Queen of these wolves." I raised my swords as he raised his eyes to meet mine. I saw the fear but I didn't slow my arms as they descended and cut his head off. I released the swords and reached down to pick up his head. Then I threw it into the crowd of wolves as my eyes blurred. No one moved or spoke as a purple light engulfed me.
