The friends couldn't believe this was going so badly. Everything was going so well and now here they were, stuck in the jungle with no idea how to get back.

"Hey guys, look at this." Randal said excitedly.

"What, something else to ruin our day?" Christine asked angrily.

"No, watch." Randal said.

Randal then dropped onto his hands and feet and began stalking like a cat in the direction of a tree.

"What is he doing?" Christine asked.

"I thought it took longer for people to go insane when they get lost." Chris replied.

Randal crept closer to the tree until he got into the position cats get into when they are about to pounce. He was about to spring and something took to the air in front of him. He launched into the air and grabbed the animal in his hand. He then ran back to the group.

"Look at this." Randal said, holding a small animal in his hand. A long tail and a lizard head was sticking out of his hand.

"So, a lizard." Chris said.

"Well, look at this." Randal said, excited.

Then he listened his grip on the lizard enough to grasp something. He pulled out something that surprised them. A wing, a large batlike wing. Instead of forelegs it had wings.

"Wait, you're telling me this rainforest has dragons in it?" Chris said.

"I suppose you could say that, no fire-breath though." Randal said. He then released the lizard after snapping a few pictures of the little creature.

"Okay, I may be surprised at the fact that you just caught a freaking dragon, but how?" Christine asked.

"Well, I catch animals at home all of the time." Randal replied. "I can do what I just did with birds at home. How do you think I have the little pets I have at home?"

"Wait, what pets do you have?" Christine asked.

"A robin, a garter snake, a five lined skink, and an eastern fence lizard." Randal replied. "They don't just sell those at a pet store."

"That makes so much sense." Chris replied.

"It seems all of the wildlife here is different." Randal said.

This was true, there were no orchids or other typical jungle plants. There, instead, were other strange flowers and plants.

"Wow, look at this flower." Christine said.

"Wow, that is cool." Chris said. "For a flower I guess.

The flower was shaped like any other flower, only save one thing. This flower changed color. The flower flashed from one color to another without pattern.

"I want to put it in my hair." Christine said plucking it from its stem. The flower then turned white. "Awe, I guess it's just pretty on its own."

"That's really odd, it's almost as if it has color changing cells like a cuttlefish or octopus. That's unknown in the plant world. It's almost as if," Randal said dazed. "this rainforest is unknown to science."

Randal and the others would soon discover that this was true, in the worst possible way.
