It's been a week since the three had found themselves stranded in the middle of a rainforest in which nothing had been discovered.

"So, I wonder, I suppose this has been exciting and all, but when, and how, are we supposed to get back." Christine said.

"Well, I don't know. I'm hoping it will be soon. A week in the jungle can start to get anyone to go stir crazy." Randal replied. "Even me."

Randal had gone fishing and Chris was staying at the camp with Christine to pick fruit.

"Well, I'm not sure what to do now. We've picked enough leather fruit and I think we should find a way to pass the time." Chris stated.

"Well, I'm going to the jungle. There is something I like to do there." Christine replied. She then grabbed a bunch of dead fish from the dinner the night before and walked off.

Christine was almost to where she was headed and she turned around to see if she was being followed. She was doing nothing wrong, but someone would probably see it as if she was. She emerged from the brush into a clearing and was met by a two foot long ball of fluff covered in spots.

"Hi Hercules, how are you buddy." She cooed to the little beast cat cub. She had seen him about three times since she had first seen him and he had grown some, he was just in that stage.

Mot long after she showed up she saw another shape in the brush and the mother stepped out. At first she had her hackles raised and she looked angry, but upon seeing that it was Christine she simply chuffed a greeting and plopped onto the ground beside her. She was fine unless she attempted to touch her, in this case she would growl and swat at her, which Christine didn't want. She pulled out a dead fish.

"Hercules, I have something for you." She said to the cub. "And here is some fish for you Big Mama." Christine tossed her a piece of fish and resumed stroking Hercules.

"What is going on here?" Chris inquired as he stepped into the clearing. "Here I am thinking of you as some sort of safety freak while you sneak out to play with a cat big enough to eat a freaking cow without thinking twice."

"Oh, whatever, first off you might want to lower your voice before Big Mama rips your face off. Second, why do you care, it's not that bad. I still care about safety. The thing is the fact that things get boring when you are stuck in places like this, when you have to worry about whether doing something would affect your health or something stupid like that. Sometimes you have to try to have some fun. We are already in such unsafe conditions, why can't we just have a little fun?" Christine ranted.

"I guess, can I pet him?" Chris asked, grinning at the little beast cat pawing at his feet.

"I suppose, if Big Mama lets you." Christine replied with a glance at the sleeping beast cat.

After staying out for about fifteen minutes they left to return to camp.

"So, I brought back fish." Randal said returning.

"Cool, anything new?" Christine asked.

"No, nothing, and thank God, if I have to almost die because of another scientific breakthrough I am going to be ticked." Randal replied humorously.

"Well, let's eat." Chris said.

The group lit a fire and soon the smell of roasting fish filled the air.

"Hey, guys, I can't believe I forgot about this. Look." Christine shouted, looking in her backpack. She then pulled out something that made everyone in the group gasp. She had pulled out a large, full, salt shaker.

"Oh my God. You have had salt this whole freaking time. We need it now." Chris shouted.

"I know, I remembered no-one can live without salt for very long, there is salt in the blood of animals, but not much. I brought this in case of a situation like this and just remembered." Christine exclaimed excitedly, glad that the group could finally eat food that wasn't totally bland

The group ate there fish with gusto, finally something worth eating.
