"Hey everyone, wake up." Chris shouted, thrashing Randal.
"Okay, I take it you want me to catch some fish." Randal said.
"Yeah, but your taking us. We need someone to protect us in case a dragon breaks into camp." Chris replied.
"Well that just makes you wimps, you saw the dragons, they're only about a foot long." Randal joked.
"You know what I mean." Chris replied.
The group began walking into the forest when they were stopped dead by what they saw.
"Wow, would you look at that." Randal said amazed.
A huge parrot stood on a branch in front of them. The bird had a huge body. It was at least six feet long and its feathers had about every color imaginable. It squawked and flew off, the blaze of color almost hurting the group's eyes when the sun glinted off of it.
"That thing was huge!" Christine exclaimed after the huge bird was gone. "And it's feathers looked like a kaleidoscope."
"Well, so far we've discovered dragons, monster fish, beast cats, and kaleidoscope parrots, we'll be famous." Chris joked.
"I'm not sure you should joke about that. This really could make us famous." Randal replied.
"Okay, if that's the case, I'm going to name the next animal we discover after myself." Chris insured his friends.
"I don't think any scientists would like any animal named after you." Christine joked.
"Okay, here we are, the river." Randal declared.
Randal held up his spear and began inspecting possible spots to wait for a fish to pass by. He began to see those fishy fish passing through, when all of the sudden the school parted and went in all directions. The dolphin snake swam through it and Randal assumed that he was witnessing the snake hunting. He realised his wrongness when the snake turned around to strike at something. A huge fish at six feet long bit into the huge snake's side. The snake wrapped around the monster fish and tried to bit through its rock hard skin, but failed. The fish bit down and blood began to turn the water red. Before the cloud engulfed the two Randal noticed the monster fish shake its huge head and tear the snake in half. It ate the head end as the tail began to thrash around.
As the blood filled the water smaller fish began to swarm the area. They took big mouthfuls of the water and began to pick apart the remains of the dolphin snake. He took his spear and threw it, hoping not to hit the monster fish. He managed to spear one and pulled it out of the water. It had a small narrow body and long fanglike teeth. The teeth were sharp but the two fangs were what surprised Randal.
"What is that?" Chris asked.
"I don't know, but I think it's like the equivalent of a piranha." Randal replied.
"I can't believe I just saw something like that." Christine exclaimed.
"Well, that's nature for ya." Randal replied.
The blood began to clear up and there was nothing left of the tail end of the dolphin snake but bones. The fishy fish returned to the area and lightly picked at the snake ribs. Randal managed to spear a few and they began to head back to camp.
"Wow, nature is really violent." Chris said.
"Well, there isn't much more to expect than than that." Randal replied, he was trying to answer every question they had, he was finally in his element.
