"Yes," says Tobias. "You got a problem with that?"

"No," Eric replies. "Enjoy your time with each other, for now, at least." he grins a smile that would only be worn by Mr. Grinch, and walks out if the room.

"Yikes," I say. "He wasn't happy about that."

"Nope," he states, popping the 'p'. "Listen, you should go to bed. You'll be choosing your jobs tomorrow."

"But I thought that it was in 2 days!"

"It was moved up a day," he says.

"Alright. Good night..." I look around to see if anyone is watching, "Tobias." We smile and he kisses me before he leaves. I sigh.

I am at the choosing ceremony again, but this time I choose Abnegation. My blood is on the gray stones. I walk over and hug my parents. They ask me why I look so downcast. I say it's about Caleb, but it's really about not choosing Dauntless, or even Erudite. My mother reaches for my hand and squeezes it tightly. We both miss Caleb dearly, though it might not be the reason I'm sad. My dad does not look glum though, he looks angry. I'm not sure if it is about Caleb or about Marcus' son leaving him for Dauntless. He gets this way every year.

I wake with a start. I remember that I'm supposed to be somewhere at 10:45. I realize it is where I will choose my job. I look at the clock. It reads 10:30. Only 15 minutes to get dressed?!

I skip a shower and just pull on black leggings and a black V-neck. I apply some mascara and draw a quick line of eye-liner.

I rush out and go to the training room. It is 10:43 right now. I just made it. I wipe sweat from my forehead and look at the list if jobs.

I definitely know what I am picking. I can't stand to be a nurse, I'm not very nice, I won't classify to be a chef, I couldn't make Dauntless cake for my LIFE, and I can't be an ambassador, I'll have to see my dad and Marcus. I will never look at him the same way. Child abuse is selfish. He is not Abnegation.

Tobias calls my name and I say, "here." The choosing begins.
