Another sleepless night.
More worrying for Jim.
But that's what is supposed ti happen, isn't it?
He is supposeed to lose them. He is supposed to lose them all.
He already has.
His mother, she has been gone for a long time. His father who left him, never looking back.
And Catherine.
The one who got him to open up.
Maybe that is all that Jim is worth- loss.
Maybe that is his purpose, the reason he is here.
I mean, doesn't everyone have a reason?
A reason to go there, or a reason to stay here.
And maybe Jim's reason isn't a good reason.
Maybe he is here to remember the lost ones.
Maybe.
Jim goes through the motions, but he doesn't feel them.
He goes to the coffee shop, without noticing the people.
He sips his hot drink, not feeling the scalding hot coffee.
He seats himself on the train and doesn't feel the movements.
Jim just doesn't feel.
Because it's so much easier than the pain.
