Daniella spent the night last night but had to leave early this morning to go shopping with her mother. So I went back to sleep for another hour or so before my phone woke me up.
I looked over to see a FaceTime call from Tanner.
I slid it open looking tired as hell.
"What?" I answered.
"Good morning babe, you sound refreshed." He joked.
"Yeah yeah" I rolled my eyes playfully.
"So, my neighbors are letting me borrow their kayak. You want to go try it out?" He asked with a smirk.
"Yes." I smiled.
"Alright I'll pick you up in 10" he smiled back.
"TANNER" I yelled knowing that I wouldn't be ready in time.
"I'm kidding, I'll pick you up in an hour." He laughed as I laid back in relief.
"Bye." I laughed.
"Bye." He said hanging up.
I looked around my room before getting up and heading towards the shower. I took a quick 15 minute shower then dried my hair and body off. I put on a swim suit then threw on a tank and shorts over it, I knew with how much Tanner and I flopped we were bound to fall in.
I threw my hair up in a bun then looked at the time with 15 minutes to spare. I went on Netflix to look for a show to start watching, I clicked on the show scream and watched it for the few minutes I had left.
I looked over to see my phone light up.
'T: I'm here!'
I slipped on my chacos then grabbed my phone walking out. I didn't have to worry about Bryson because he was over at the neighbors house spending the night.
I walked outside to see Tanner standing next to an old truck with a kayak sticking out of the trunk.
"Who's car is this?" I giggled walking up to him.
"The neighbors, I needed to get it to the lake somehow." He smiled pulling me into a hug.
We got into the truck and I watched him as he backed out.
"Yanno." I said taking off his hat and putting it on my head as I played with his hair. "You look pretty hot driving a truck."
"Oh yeah?" He smirked while driving down the road. "Maybe I should get one."
"No" I laughed "you look even hotter driving your GTR."
"Well good, because I would never buy a truck." He said as I continued to play with his hair.
We got to the lake in about half an hour. I got out and looked around as Tanner opened the trunk pulling the kayak out.
I helped him carry it down to the water.
"Ready?" He asked taking my hand.
I nodded my head as he helped me in from off the dock. We had a little bit of trouble at first, noticing that it rocked around a lot. But we soon got the hang of it and started going somewhere. We laughed and made fun of each other a lot.
"This is nice." I smiled as we passed under a bridge.
"It is" Tanner agreed "now are you going to help me paddle?"
I put the paddle in the water and splashed some back at him.
I turned around and laughed "sorry."
"That's it." He laughed tackling me into the water.
I resurfaced laughing and so did Tanner as he flipped his hair around.
"Now try not to think about all the snapping turtles and snakes in the water.." he grinned as he came closer to me.
"Stop." I frowned pulling him closed to my lips.
He pecked my lips then smiled at me "come on." He said holding on the the kayak and swimming towards land.
We finally made it pulling ourselves out of the water. I helped Tanner bring the kayak back to the truck.
"Oh yeah." He said grabbing a towel from the back seat of the car and throwing it to me "I have a surprise."
He pulled out a basket from the backseat as well.
"I thought we could have a picnic" he shrugged.
"Awe yes, that sounds perfect." I grabbed the basket after wrapping the towel around me.
Tanner pulled a blanket out the back and a towel for him as we started walking towards a grassy field. He laid the blanket down and sat the basket on top.
"This could not have been done with the help of mama fox." He laughed opening the basket and pulling out little sandwiches, grapes, chips, and juice boxes.
"Nothing says romantic like juice boxes." I laughed picking one up and poking a straw threw it.
"So I was thinking, since your birthday is Monday we can leave that night and spend the week at my moms beach house." He suggested.
"You remembered." I smiled.
"Of course." He said taking a bite of his sandwich.
"But yes, that sounds good." I paused "thanks for doing all of this for me."
"You're welcome." He smiled.
"No I mean it, no guy would ever." I said poping a grape into my mouth.
"Well, you deserve it." He said running his fingers through his hair.
We finished up and headed back to the truck holding hands.
"What's a way to wrap up this perfect day?" Tanner questioned.
"Skate park?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Good thinking." He smiled getting in the truck.
We headed back and Tanner returned the truck. He let me change as he went home to change and grab his scooter. He picked me back up and we went to the skate park.
We pulled up and I could already see Dylan in there, uh oh.
"Uh hey, let's do something else." I said looking over at Tanner.
Tanner slowly looked over at the skate park but I pulled his face back over to mine.
"What are you talking about?" He laughed "come on let's go."
He got out and I nervously got out too.
After seeing the way Tanner acted around him I was nervous, plus I'd rather hang with Dylan around Daniella and Jake.
Tanner stopped at the gate noticing Dylan.
"Tanner..." I nervously bit my lip.
"It's fine." He rolled his eyes and continued to go in.
I slowly walked over to the bench and sat down to watch Tanner. I heard footsteps approach from behind and I knew exactly who it was.
"Hey." I turned around.
"Hi." Dylan smiled.
"Listen, my boyfriends here I don't know if it's a good idea-" I said before he cut me off.
"Say no more." He shook his head sitting next to me. He obviously didn't get what I meant. "I want to become friends with him so he can stop hating me."
"Good luck." I mumbled.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing, just be careful." I smiled nervously.
He stood up and started to walk towards Tanner and I could hear my heart beat louder.
I saw Tanner stop and give him a dirty look.
Dylan started to converse and Tanners face grew less and less with anger. Tanner started to even nod his head and converse back. They even pulled each other in for a quick pat. I started to watch them as Tanner showed Dylan new tricks he learned on his scooter.
"Well I'll be damned.." I crossed my arms.
I sat there in shock as I watched them.
They both came over to me laughing and smiling.
"What the hell just happened?" I asked still in shock.
"I don't know, he's cool." Tanner laughed.
"Well... alright." I said weirded out but still happy that they became friends.
"I have some friends you can meet, Capron, Corey, Maverick. Bro they would love you." Dylan said hitting Tanners shoulder lightly.
"Sounds fun, text me and we can all meet up." Tanner said messing around with the bars on his scooter.
"Alright well I got to go, I'll see you later man." Dylan said said holding up duces at both of us.
"Alright bye." Tanner said.
"Bye." I waved.
I waited till he walked away before standing up "well damn, that was less stressful than I thought."
Tanner laughed at my comment then continued to ride around for a few more minutes before we decided to go.
