"HAPPY BIRTHDAY WAKE UP WAKE UP."
I groaned and shifted over knowing it was Bryson. "Get out."
"Come on, get up its your birthday." Bryson smiled jumping on me as I peaked my eyes open.
"I'm aware.. but it's too early for this shit." I rubbed my eye.
"It's 1:37 pm." Bryson giggled.
"What?" I sat up quickly knocking Bryson onto the floor looking at the time.
"People are already here waiting." He said standing up.
"Waiting for what?" I questioned.
"The birthday girl, they want to see you. mom is running out of snacks and small talk so you better get going." He said walking out.
I got up and ran into the closet pulling my birthday dress off the hanger. It was a plain baby pink dress. I grabbed a black and white flannel then tied it around my waste then went to the bathroom brushing my teeth and putting on a little more makeup than usual. I straightened my hair then walked over to my bed grabbing my phone. I looked over at the bag in the corner of my room and started to smile knowing that I was going to spend a whole week with Tanner. I walked out and down the stairs.
"There's the birthday girl." My grandma said walking out of the kitchen.
"Hey grams." I hugged her.
I walked in instantly greeted by the whole family. But no Tanner.
I sat at the kitchen table and played with the left over cake on my plate using my fork. My birthday wasn't going too well.
I flipped over my phone hoping for a text. Nothing.
I walked over to get a cup of lemonade.
"How's your party?" My mom asked as I filled up my cup.
"It's fine." I shrugged.
"What's wrong?" She frowned.
"Tanner." I paused "why didn't he come?"
"Oh. He's probably just busy baby." She said as I took a sip of my lemonade. "He might show up later."
"But we talked about it all week.." I rolled my eyes "and I wanted him to meet my family."
"That's swe-" my mother began before the doorbell rang. She walked over but I stopped her.
"I got it." I said as she smiled and nodded her head.
I walked to the door opening it slowly to see Tanners smiling face.
"Happy Birthday.. sorry I was-" he began before I cut him off with a hug.
"You came." I said into his chest.
"Of corse." He laughed.
I pulled away slowly and looked at him with a smile.
"Listen. I'm sorry, the present was taking forever and I felt bad so I got you these." He said handing me a bouquet of roses.
"Aw Tanner.." I took the flowers "what took long?" I questioned.
"You'll find out." He said walking in with the gift in his hand.
"Well who is this?" My aunt asked looking at Tanner.
"This is my boyfriend, Tanner." I nervously smiled.
It got quiet as everyone looked at him. Then a huge screech came from my grandma as she ran up to hug Tanner. Next thing I knew Tanner had everyone's attention, he fitted in perfectly.
"I knew he would show up." My mom smiled.
"Yeah, Im glad he's here." I said as we watched him getting along with everyone.
Soon my family started leaving the house after saying goodbye to Tanner and I.
"Well, we should get going." He smiled looking at me.
"Yeah I'll get my bag." I said walking up the stairs.
"I'll help." Tanner said walked up after me.
I walked in my room picking up my bag and looking around.
"Oh" I said setting my bag back down and walking over to my mirror. "I forgot to pack up my makeup."
I started to put all my brushes in my makeup bag until I felt something go around my neck.
I looked up in the mirror to see Tanner putting a necklace around my neck. It was so pretty, and had real diamonds on it.
"Tanner." I said shocked as he put it on for me then moved my hair over it. "I love it."
I turned around and embraced him. "Thank you." I said smiling into a kiss.
"Come on let's go." He smiled picking up my bag as I grabbed my makeup bag and headed out.
"Bye Bryson." I said peaking my head in his room.
"BYE TANNER." He waved at Tanner.
"Awesome my brother loves you more than me." I joked.
Charlie came jumping off Bryson's bed and running towards me.
"Bye little guy" I said kneeling down to pet him.
We headed downstairs to say bye to my mom.
"Bye mom" I said hugging her.
"Bye baby." She hugged me tightly "take care of my girl she said looking at Tanner."
"Of course." He smiled pulling me close by my waist.
"Aright, we're leaving. Love you." I said as we walked towards the door. We finally got out and put my bags in Tanners trunk.
Tanner opened the door for me as I sat down in the passenger seat. He walked around and got in the drivers seat and backed out heading towards the beach house. I grabbed his hand and held it on the way there. We finally arrived and got out with our things. It was very pretty on the outside, Tanners mom did a good job on keeping it clean.
"My mom was down here all week cleaning." Tanner said opening the door.
I stepped in setting my things down as Tanner closed the door behind me. I was amazed at everything, it was so beautiful. I walked out onto the open deck and watched as the sun set on the beach.
"It's beautiful." I said with a smile.
Tanner came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. "And it's all ours for a week."
"Damn, my mom must really like you because she would never even let me stay the night at a guys house." I said with a chuckle.
"I'm a likable person." Tanner joked.
"You're not doing too well with me." I joked back.
"Shut up." He laughed kissing my cheek.
I walked back in the beach house grabbing my things.
Tanner walked me in a room and I set my things down.
"Now this is your room, and my rooms down the hall...but." He paused pushing me on the bed with him "we can share."
I smiled and kissed him a little more aggressive then usual.
This was going to be a good week.
