Chapter 17

I woke up wrapped in Tanners arms with Kirby next to us. I looked over and smiled squeezing Tanner tighter. I looked up to see his eyes flutter open and a smile appear on his face.
"Morning." I smiled running my hand through his hair.
"Morning" he smiled back in a raspy voice.
I thought his morning voice was hot. I started to realize I thought a lot about Tanner, what did this mean?
"Want to go over by the cliff today?" He asked.
"Yeah" I smiled "but can we bring Charlie? My mom will be mad if I don't take care of him."
"Yeah sure." He nodded.
I rested my head against his chest and we laid there for a little, it was nice.
"Tell me about you family." I looked at him.
It was out of no where but I just craved to know more and more about him.
"Well..." he began. "You've met my mom, she's the best mom I could ask for. Shes understanding, and she kinda just lets me do my own thing.. I have a sister, I don't talk to her. She lives with my dad who I also don't talk to often. I visit him sometimes, I did it often when I was little, but I hate going over there because when I do I'm stuck there for months. My dad doesn't understand my personality, he thinks I'm childish and annoying. And my sister doesn't talk to me much when I'm there, I don't know.. I just don't feel welcome. But, I like it here." He smiled looking at me.
I began to smile but also very curious with tons of questions "do you have friends where your dad lives?"
"Most definitely, I use to stay here for summers but go over to his during the school year, but I stopped doing that." He shrugged.
I nodded my head and looked around his room for the camera equipment his mom was talking about to me. I looked over at his desk and finally spotted it.
"What's that?" I asked pointing to it.
"Oh it's nothing." He shook it off
"It's obviously for something tell me." I got up picking up the camera and examining it.
"Don't make fun of me." He paused "but I wanted to make a YouTube channel."
"That's so cool." I smiled "I think you should do it."
"Really?" He questioned.
"yeah." I paused "do what makes you happy."
I saw him mouth my words 'do what makes you happy'
I smiled and set the camera down walking over to him.
"Wanna take me home so I can get ready then grab Charlie and go?" I asked
"Yeah. One sec ." He got up.
He slipped on a black T then stripped down to his boxers grabbing some shorts and putting them on. He then grabbed a tan hat and we were on our way.
I said goodbye to Kirby before walking out to Tanners car. I got in and he stopped by my house really fast and came in with me. I got ready in a grey T with jean shorts. I grabbed the leash and Charlie on the way out.
We finally got back on the road and headed towards our spot.
When we got there I put Charlie on his leash as we walked towards the edge. We sat down and I put Charlie on my lap.
"Now tell me about your family." He waited.
I smiled and paused to think "You already know my annoying brother, I love him but god he gets on my nerves. My mom, you know her too. But she's been acting different, ever since... my father died."
"Oh... I'm so sorry" he grabbed onto my hand.
"It's okay" I grinned nudging him with my shoulder.
"Listen" he paused "there's something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now, I just didn't know how you would react."
"What is it?" I asked.
"Well I know we're best friends and all, and I don't want to ruin that and I know you don't either but I just can't help it, you're everything I want. I guess what I'm trying to say is I like you.. a lot." He half smiled.
I looked away from him in shock, did he just admit feelings for me? I can't believe it. I didn't know what to say.
"Mia? it's fine if you don't-" he began before I cut him off by smashing my lips into his.
I pulled away with a smile "I like you too.. a lot."
He smiled letting out a little nervous laugh.
"Good. I thought it was just me." He held his heart in relief.
"You're the first guy I actually had things in common with." I said
"Really?" He asked "didn't you date that Caden guy for like eight months?"
"Yeah, I thought we had things in common but he never did the things I liked. It was his way or the highway." I shook my head.
"Well what's one thing you wanted to do with him that never happened?" He asked.
"Hmmm... probably go to the amusement park that's always open on the beach." I shrugged "just little things like that."
"How about tomorrow?" He asked
"What?" I said in confusion
"You and me, let's go. Tomorrow" he paused "I'll pick you up."
"Really?" I questioned.
"Yeah, it sounds fun." He waited for my reaction.
"Yes of course, thank you." I hugged him.
He had no idea how much this mean to me.
I pulled away really quick to look at him "So does this mean it's a date?" I asked.
"Yep" he nodded.
"Good" I smiled pulling him back into the hug.

Also I know Tanners sister lives with him and his mom, but it's a fanfic and I didn't really wanted to include her in this book sorry.
