He looked through his unwashed hair at the girl in pink. She was frozen. Still. From the sight of her best friend. His body was not taken care of. The same clothes that he had worn yesterday were still draped over his body. It wasn't like him, she thought, to be like this.
He never broke eye contact with her. Just stared. Emotionless.
Everyone around them moved, whispering to each other to leave, to maybe give them some privacy. Then they left. And it went silent.
Lucy slowly moved towards Natsu, about to cry. "Natsu?" She said gently, carefully. He stared at the ground. Lucy cupped her hand around his face and pulled it up to see hers. "Please tell me that you're okay." He looks down, without a single noise coming from his body. Natsu couldn't tell if he was happy or mad or sad to see Lucy again. All of his emotions kind of combined together. What was this feeling?
"Listen, if this is about me and Nar-" "It's not." Natsu interrupts, monotone. He stares at her and forces a smile. "It's okay, I'm okay. Sorry to get you worried." Lucy traced her thumb around the bottom of his dark, swollen eye. "You look sick. You probably need to sleep too." It pained Lucy to see him like this.
Then Lucy threw her arms around him and hugged him out of pure love. "I missed you so much Natsu." Natsu put his arms around her too. It felt good to be hugged by her. "I missed you too." And they stayed in that hug for a long time, just savoring the moment of love and happiness.
