This is the first two chapters of my new story Different People, Different Worlds starring Roc and Prod. If you like it, read the story!
----------------------------------------------
Roc sat at the table with his bag of clothes and waited. After being shipped from foster home to foster home, a family finally decided to adopt him. He's never seen the parents before but he knows that they live in the suburbs of California and have a son a year older than him.
Roc had a rough childhood. He grew up in the slums of Compton. His mother was killed when Roc was only 5 years old and was forced to be cared for by his father. But once his father started getting in trouble with the law, by the time Roc was 10 years old, his ended up with life in prison. Since Roc didn't have any family members to take care of him, he went into foster care.
Roc never grew close to any of his foster parents since he knew that he would be leaving to go to another soon. He was never really a people person. Growing up in the hood, he didn't know that first thing about living in the suburbs, but once his new adoptive parents arrive, he would soon find out.
"Chresanto?" A lady in her mid 40s said as she walked up to his table followed by a man who looked about the same age as the woman.
"Huh?" Roc looked up.
"Hello. I'm Craig and this is my wife Wanda. We are your adoptive parents." The man smiled.
"Oh okay." Roc said sitting up.
"Are you ready?" Wanda asked.
"Yeah uh, let me get my things."
They both smiled as they watch Roc grabbed his belongings. Once having them, they walked out of the door. They were met by a shiny, black Escalade with tinted windows and shiny rims that looked brand new.
Craig grabbed Roc's bags and placed them in the trunk as Roc hopped into the backseat. He looked around at the rather expensive interior. Light brown leather seats with TVs resting on the back of each seat. Looking up at the front as Craig started the car, the touch screen gps lit up as the word 'Cadillac' appeared on the screen.
Roc sat back. 'Are they rich?' He thought to himself. Growing up I. The ghetto, Roc never rode in, let alone seen in person, a luxury vehicle like this one. Most teenagers Roc's age would love this. But that's the problem, a Roc isn't like other teenagers his age.
"So Chresanto-"
"My names Roc." He said blankly cutting Wanda off.
"But on your birth certificate, it says Chresanto August."
"I know but I'ont like that name. Call me Roc." Roc demanded.
Because Roc grew up roughly, he showed no respect. Since his mother died, no one was really around to show him. He spoke his mind rather it was nice or not. He held nothing back and didn't care how the other person felt. That's how he was raised.
He was raised to believe that the only way you can stand up for yourself is to hurt the other person. Growing up, Roc often got into fights. He was a rough kid and knew it, but he didn't care. Since he was always sent from foster home to foster home, he never stayed in school long enough to establish friends. Roc felt alone in this world. That's why at times, he came off as mean and heartless.
"Listen Chresan- Roc. We know about your background. We know all the things you've been through and we just want you to know that we care for you and are here to help and give you a better life." Craig said. "We will love you and treat you as if you were our own. Okay?"
