Akahana was fast asleep until her slumber was rudely interrupted by the sound of her teammates quibbling over some little thing.
"I'm not taking the baby," Naoki told Mako, "You know me and children is not a good combination. Can't Aka-chan do it?"
"We need Akahana for the protection of this child," Mako said, "We both already called dibs on that."
Naoki sighed, "Jerks."
"Who are you calling a jerk?" Akahana blended in, "It's taking advantage of your slow decision making."
Naoki nearly fumed, but realised he would have to accept his fate anyway. For the rest of the mission, he was going to have to distract the wanted daughter of an important businessman in the Land of Iron. Unfortunately, the child was an eight year old with the annoyance level of a three year old and she loved bugging him.
He crossed his arms, "Fine," he stated, "But if I see a single scratch on Mako, I'll--"
"You'll skin me alive, yeah, you made your point in the last four times you said that."
"That's because it's important for you to know."
"I figured."

The mission had been a succes, though Naoki was now frustated and exhausted at the same time, that kid required unlimited attention and he was the only one there to profite it.
"Oh come on, Naoki, now you can score with the ladies who want children, brag about how good you are with them," Mako mused, smirking.
"What if I don't want that?" Naoki retorted, "Children, they are satan's offspring."
Shibi graced the three with his presence, "She was very content with the way you treated her and played with her. You're a natural."
Akahana chuckled, "Very subtle, Shibi-sensei, but I don't think Naoki would ever wanna babysit your eight months old son."
Shibi nodded and turned to Naoki, "But if you ever change your mind, you tell me."
"Of course Shibi-sensei!" he chirped.

Akahana spent the rest of the week not working, spending time with her family instead. Kakashi was too busy with a mission Minato had given to him, not accepting any help.
Of course, that didn't stop her from stalking him and forcing him to let her stay with him while he was watching Kushina and making she would stay safe.
"Sometimes I wonder why I still love you," Kakashi uttered, "How I even fell in love with you in the first place."
Akahana chuckled, "Stop denying it, Kakashi-chan, you like my stubbornness. If there's anybody who should wonder what could possibly make them love the other, it's me."
Kakashi gave her a kiss on the lips, which she gladly returned. When their lips were once again seperated, Akahana looked confused, "What did you do that for?" she asked him.
"Honestly, I didn't want to hear you insult me like that."
"I wasn't insulting you!" she retorted, "I was merely speaking words of truth, stating the painfully obvious."
Kakashi smiled and started tickling her, causing her to laugh uncontrollably. "Kobayashi Akahana, you've grown up to be a very cheeky and troublesome woman. What happened?"
Akahana looked him in the eyes, "Blame those Kobayashi genes for that, Kakashi." She then gave him a peck on the lips, making him wonder where that came from, "Good luck with the mission, my family wants to take some time off and get out of the village for a while."
