Kakashi and Akahana were on an A-rank mission, just the two of them with Shikaku as the mission leader. The main objective was to gather information by taking captive a rogue nin, living in a nearby village.

"Shikaku-san, what's the plan?" Akahana asked, to which Shikaku nodded. He explained to the two shinobi what they were going to do: they were going to wait until the nin was out in the open and preform an ambush from three different angles. Shikaku would use his Shadow possesion to paralyse him whilst Kakashi and Akahana knocked him unconcious.

Shikaku hid behind a bush, masking his chakra. Kakashi hid in a tree, as did Akahana. All three of them remained silent until they saw their target moving towards them.

It was a middle aged man with black hair reaching his shoulders, eyes as green as the grass he stood upon and his skin was tanned. He wore simple clothing, his scratched headband worn around his hip pridefully.

The three Konoha nin exchanged glances and nodded, it was time for the ambush. Shikaku did just as he had told them he would, he caught the man in his jutsu, leaving him unable to move. Kakashi and Akahana jumped out of the trees and the first one to get to him was the one to knock him out.

"Well done, Kakashi, Akahana," he praised the two of them, "Now we should get him somewhere safe. No one must know where we took him."

They both nodded and they moved on, eventually ending up in an abandoned store house. "Kakashi," Akahana said, "I'll take the first watch, you go to sleep."

"I'll stay awake with you," he told her, "I can't sleep anyway."

"Rin's death wasn't your fault, how many times do I have to tell you?" she retorted, "It was an accident and it won't happen again." She gave him a light smile, "and I won't die without a fight either."

Kakashi gave her a worried look, "and I'll wake both you and Shikaku-san up as soon as I sense enemies, you first," she then added with a wink.

He sighed, but went to sleep anyway. She was stubborn and determined, she had always been that way.

Akahana looked around and tried to sense chakra every once in a while. Until the end of her watch, nothing happened, no one came to take back the man they had taken captive.

But then she sensed a lot of chakra and even saw some bushes moving. She quickly woke Kakashi and Shikaku, neither of them were fast asleep.

"You think you can win?" a voice called out mockingly, "Hand him over and we won't have to fight."

"Who are you?" Shikaku asked, "And what do you want with this man? He's nothing but a rogue nin, belonging to the Leaf."

"That's none of your business," the voice replied, "but if you really don't want to give him to us, I'm afraid we're going to have to fight."

All three of them stood ready, ready for an attack that could happen any moment, "Jump!" Akahana shouted when she sensed some people below them.

All three of them jumped up, out of reach of the hands that came out of the earth, soon followed by the sight of three men. They didn't wear headbands, nor did they wear typical shinobi clothing.

They turned out to be jounin nin who had deserted their own villages. They didn't agree with their views on things and had no pride ever being loyal to their Kage.

"Kakashi, behind you!" Akahana cried out, kicking away one of the men, seeing another one creeping up from behind the nineteen year old Hatake.

Everything went well for them for a while, until another stranger showed up. The men tried to kill him, but the stranger, wearing a black cloak covering his face, deflected their attacks with ease. He killed them swiftly.
