When Two Worlds Meet

Chapter 5: Jenovia

I woke up in an unfamiliar setting as I got up and looked around I saw Jay sitting at a desk . He was hunched over his desk without a shirt on, he must've heard me cause he straightened up and turned around towards me, he quickly put away what he was working on and got up towards me.

Jen- Where am I?

Jay- In my house, I didn't want to wake you but I brought last nights leftovers.

He grabbed a bag and handed it to me I sat up more and crossed my legs then took the bag in my lap, opening I saw all kinds of food. I felt his eyes on me as I ate but I was to hungry to care when I finished he grabbed the trash and threw it away downstairs while he was gone I looked around his room eventually getting up to notice how little I was wearing I looked around and find my jeans folded up nicely same with my t-shirt, I quickly slipped them on before heading towards his desk and sitting down in the chair, I spun around a couple times then looked at his books and little trophies he kept from our hunts. I was looking at the journal he was working in before I woke up when he came in and closed the journal then shoved it back in the drawer it was in.

Jay- Have you ever heard of privacy?

Jen- *Crossing my arms* I have its just I was curious.

I rolled his eyes before handing me a paper with a list on it.

Jen- What's this?

Jay- A list of stuff you need to bring when we leave once we check in to work.

I looked over the list then at him. "Don't you think it will be weird to see two people carrying giant bags out of the fence."

"We are setting the bags outside of the fence checking in then leaving."

"Makes sense." I went towards his door about to open it when he pushed me against the wall and pressed his lips against mine I eventually leaned into him. He broke off then said "Don't wake your parents, we don't need a tail." I nodded then walked out of his room my face heating up as I walked towards his front door.

I was packing a few things in the bag then snuck downstairs to grab some food. As I was rummaging through one of the pantry's I heard a voice. "Be careful." Is all they said before sitting down at the table and flipped open a book. I walked over to my father and sat next to him. "I know, papa." He looked up at me a tear ran down his face and I hugged him. "Don't worry I'll be back one day and I'll have Jay with me." He looked me in the eyes "That's what bothers me, you're going out into unknown territory with a boy who is putting this idea of freedom in your head. Jenovia, I need you to know that no matter what we will accept you if you come back but I can't make the same promise for the rest of the village."

I got up, grabbed my bag then walked out of the house. Looking back at the house I closed my eyes, took a deep breath then walked towards the fence. I waited at the fence for Jay and when he didn't show I hid my bag in a bush and walked towards check in. As I neared check in some of the "guards", they really were just the strongest of the citizens in our village, ran past me then I ran towards Jay's house to see him being wrestled to the ground and restrained by many men. I looked over to see not just my parents but Allison too I watching Jeremiah thrashing about trying to escape. They all looked at me and I did the unthinkable...I pulled out a knife from my boot and ran towards the men trying to fight them off. I swung left then swiped right either missing or cutting either way they started to back away then watched as I cut ropes off of Jay. Once free he grabbed his own knife, bag, then reached for my hand grabbing his we started to walk away.

Every now and then I would look back to see my parents astonished and Allison looking not just pissed but also in a "please take me" kind of way. I turned around and pointed at her with my knife "Come if you wish but we will not be restrained by this society no longer." With that said she ran towards us stopping midway and pulling off her blonde wig to reveal blue, purple, and black hair that was concealed underneath.

Once we got to the fence I grabbed my bag and prepared myself to leave my home the one I thought would last only to be remembered as the girl who ran. Allison, the mayor's daughter, is with me letting her rebellious hair fly. Then Jay the one who brought us all together to finally escape to freedom.

Hey! This is just the beginning for these three what could happen next we'll see the next update will be of Skye's POV and we'll get it started to prepare the young travelers to meet her. How? I'm not sure yet. When? You'll get answers to all your questions.
