When Two Worlds Meet

Chapter 8: Skylar

I woke up and looked around noticing that I was in the middle of nowhere when I rolled over I noticed Gigi was gone. Shooting right up and looked around then noticed there was a sheet up and she came around from behind it pulling down a shirt. She looked up and smiled noticing I was awake, setting her stuff down in the truck cab she spoke up "what should you cook first?" She peeked around the cab to look at me, I gave her a dumbfounded look making her giggle "nevermind I'll just have to surprise you." With that I slowly got out of the bed and moved to look in the coolers but was stopped with a slap on the hand. "I told you I will surprise you, dork." I held my hands up in surrender then looked through my bag "I saw a lake over in the distance if I knew there was one nearby I would've totally packed a bathing suit." She stopped rummaging through of the coolers and looked up, smiling at me "oops guess you'll just have to A go skinny dipping or B just wear your bra and underwear." I looked at her then I poked her nose "you'd like that wouldn't you." She turned bright red and shook her head "no...maybe...uh look the fire...haha." I laughed as she walked away to the nonexistent fire.

I came out from behind the sheet and walked over to where she was and hugged her from behind then whispered "smells good." She turned around holding a plate then grabbed a fork and stuffed some eggs in my mouth. After swallowing I smiled "tastes good too" she then gave me the plate before returning to the fire.

We hung around the fire for awhile until she jumped up and turned towards me scaring me a bit. She held out her hand "lets go" I looked at her hand then at her "but we just got here last night." She retracted her hand laughing "not go home, go exploring, silly" she turned around and collected all of our stuff then put it inside the truck.

After processing what she said I followed her around until she groaned then shoved a bag into my hands "stop following me around and fill this up with sunscreen and stuff that you think we'll need." I jumped since I've never seen her irritated but I did what she asked but unsure of where we were going I packed towels, water, bug spray etc.

I finished packing the bag and she came over to me and handed me a bag. I looked inside to see a black bathing suit "I didn't know now what your size was so I bought it before the trip not kno-" I braced her in a hug and looked into her eyes "thank you, Gigi."

Once I changed I came out from behind the makeshift closet and she looked at me clearly in thought Before she stuck a finger in the air and rushed to her bags. She came back and wrapped a blue scarf like thing around my waist backing up she smiled.

As we walked towards the lake we saw all walks of life from the tiniest of bugs to the biggest of deer. It was absolutely amazing, I almost forgot I had to go back after this weekend. I walked a little behind watching as Gigi's blue hair flow in the breeze as she occasionally looked at whatever scurried by and smiled as she pointed her camera at it.

We finally got to the after travelling along the makeshift path through the woods. She set the bag on a rock and took off her cover up before going to a nearby cliff and jumping off. I watched and waited for her to surface starting to get nervous when she didn't spring back up after 2 minutes I started calling for her. Taking off the scarf and flip flops I started running towards the water then she surfaced. As she smoothed her hair back she looked at me and smiled "was someone getting worried about me" ending her comment with a giggle.

Swimming around and hanging out near the lake for what seemed like hours, we finally decide to go back to camp and start preparing for dinner. As we walked back I noticed a new bounce in her step and how she leaned into me unlike how she did before. What seemed forced before was more relaxed and intimate so I wrapped my fingers around here then leaned my head into hers. "We should move out somewhere like this." She randomly said as we made it back to our spot seeing it was untouched still made me feel safe. I looked at her and smiled "that would be great just you and I in our little cabin in the woods. But I can't abandon Lucio or Agor." She gave me a crazy look "I can't believe you are really considering this like wtf you would just up and move from the city life to the middle of nowhere." I looked up like I was thinking then nodded. "You change I'll get dinner started." She nodded and grabbed a change of clothes then headed to the sheet.

I was grilling some veggie dogs and had a can of beans over the fire. I jumped feeling her wrap her arms around me from behind then purred "I was thinking veggie dogs and beans would be awesome right now. Then maybe smores later." Sending shivers down my spine and my mind drifting away towards who knows where. "They taste better when you can tell what they are." My mind came back and I looked at the dogs and put them on the plate. We both sat on the logs eating and talking occasionally laughing.

When we were finished we through the plates into the fire and sat there for a while longer. I looked up suddenly shocking Gigi "what?" I got up and put a finger to my lips. I got to the edge of the woods...
