Chapter 9: Jenovia

I backed up slowly when the taller one looked up and I tried backing away quick enough but she kept staring into the woods. I stopped and she met my eyes then gave me a questioning look. "kim jesteś?" Well damn it I wasn't expecting a different language "I don't understand." Her eyes widened and grabbed my hand and led me to the other girl. "Można porozmawiać z tą dziewczyną, Gigi?" They conversed for a while then looked at me my mind's reaction was to gulp. The smaller one looked at me and made a hand movement I'm assuming means talk. "I don't understand what you are saying." She laughed and then slowly said "I...Barely understand...You." Good a translator now I can speak to them. "Who are you?" She looked at the taller one then back at me "My name is Gina...And...This is Skylar. Why are...You in...The..middle..Of the...woods?" This carried on for awhile till Skylar stopped us and looked at me with serious eyes then looked down. Then Gina asked "Can...You lead...Us to...Your group?" I thought about how pissed Jay would be but we needed help. I replied with a nod and Gina got up then motioned her hand telling me to lead the way.

We walked a little ways before we reached the camp Jay immediately started walking to me the smile on his face quickly disappeared as soon as Skylar and Gina walked out of the trees. Being a guy he went into defensive mode and pulled me behind him "who the hell are these people?" Skylar looked at Gina while she deciphered what he had said then replied with "My name is Gina and this is Skylar...We are...Wanting to...Help you." He looked at me then back at them then lowered his defenses before saying "My name is Jeriamah they call me Jay, this is Jenovia and the girl back there is Allison." Gina nodded in reply then asked if we wanted to join their camp.

We moved all of our stuff to their camp which wasn't much only the bags Jay and I brought. We set to the trees but were stopped by Gina who smiled and offered us a plate "you must be hungry...Have some?...If you would like to stay somewhere comfier I brought a tent." I looked to Jay who seems to be pissed off that this girl convinced us to move camps after we had already got settled. He huffed and went on setting up his bed in the tree.

Looking over at Gina I mouthed sorry and told Allison "If you want some go ahead I need to get Jay's head out of the horses ass that he stuck it in." Allison laughed went with Gina towards the fire.

I walked over to Jay who was already settled in the tree. I threw a pine cone in his general direction not meaning to hit him when I did. He looked down at me and reached his arm down for me to grab. "Are you sure we can trust these girls?" I sat down across from him and looked into his eyes "I'm not sure of anything right now but I do know we need their help." He sighed and leaned back "I know you're right but we don't know these people whatsoever they could just take our stuff and ditch us or worse take us back to the village." I scooted closer to him and placed a hand on the side of his face "I doubt anybody realises that little village of ours is even there and they seemed to have packed enough stuff. We need to learn to trust people or we'll won't get anywhere." Wrapping his arms around me he smiled slightly "we will stick with them until we don't need then anymore." We sat there in utter silence until his stomach growled making me laugh "that's not funny. I've been restricting the food intake this whole trip." I started climbing down "we can't have that now can we?" He stared at me then I grabbed his hand dragging him towards the camp. I walked up to the fire and sat him down. Almost immediately Gina walked over and offered some weird looking food. We both stared at it then she spoke up "Im sorry it's not meat but it's all we had." We went to grab for it but I nudged him in his ribs. He cleared his throat and said "Thank you for your hospitality." Then taking the plate he let out a smile, not one of his genuine ones but it was there. "Your welcome...We plan on going back to the city tomorrow." I nodded then stalked over to Skylar and sat down. "I need to learn your language." She stared at me and then grunted "ja nie rozumiem kurwa" I looked over at Gina who giggled at Skylar's remark and walked over to us "powiedziała coś, co chcę, aby zrozumieć, ale ja po prostu nie." Gina looked at me "how easy would be to learn a new language?" I thought for a second before replying "I would say pretty easy but I'm not sure."
